This is my first grow ever!!! :clap::-P:clap: I'm growing two Feminized Blue Mystics from Nirvana.

I'm growing in a GL80 (growlab 80) which is just under 3'x3' and 6' tall.
I have a 4" 190cfm inline fan with carbon filter for air out-take with passive intakes at bottom.

Using a 250w electronic ballast with MH for veg and HPS for flower.

I'm going DWC for them with a 4 port air pump feeding each 5 gallon bucket with a 4" disc air stone and 4' flexible air diffuser. I will be using Fox Farm nutes.

I successfully germinated 2 seeds and they are on their way!! I soaked some rapid rooters in distilled water with a ph just under 6. Gave them a good shake before placing my seeds in. Then placed them in a small tupperware with seran wrap over which i then placed on my cable modem for a little heat and covered it with a blanket. 2 days later they sprouted!!! I then placed them in the buckets surrounded by hydroton under the light!

I haven't added water to the buckets yet, so i currently have my seedlings in rapid rooters in the hydroton....I've been giving them some water every 6 hours or so.... My main concern is i'm not sure how much water to feed as of right now and i don't want to over water. I'm giving them less than an ounce of water but not sure if the water is penetrating down the rapid rooters enough for the roots???

Should i go ahead and add water to the buckets??? If so, should i add the water an inch above the bottom of the hydroton then slowly drop it in inch under the hydroton as they grow??? they are 3 days old now.

Use an extra rapid rooter and water it when you water your babbies. When you can't squeeze one drop of water out of the extra rooter, it's time to water. I'd also start to give them ph'd tap water for their first week or two of growth once you see true leaves The tap will provide enough fertilizers to start them off right...off 2 a good start! Happy grow'n!

Day 9

Learned a lot last week. Things are going well...but in hindsight I would have placed my rapid rooters in rockwool because it would add more stability in the hydroton and more importantly would retain a little more water because the rapid rooters alone were drying out really fast alone in the hydroton. I was paranoid to overwater my plants and one of my seedlings paid for it. It was drying out way too fast rapid rooter alone and I woke up after day 2 to see my seedling dried up and fried. The other seedling however is doing EXCELLENT!!

Lookin good!

I ran into a similar problem with hydroton as far as moisture. Coco seems to work better. It holds more moisture, but not too much.

Day 16

My one plant is really growing nicely. Noticeable growth daily. My other plant which suffered heat damage as a seedling is lagging behind and doesn't even have roots sticking out yet. Normally I'd probably yank it and throw a local clone in there, but since it's my first grow I want to see how it recovers. Here's some pics!!

Here she is!! She was crippled from heat around day 3. She now serves as a common house plant! I'm putting in a clone of either Sweet Tooth or Trainwreck to relpace her.

Day 35.....Day 1 of Flower

Started my 12/12 flowering schedule last night with the HPS now in place. Fun part is about to begin.

On a side note....I have a clone of sweet tooth and i actually promoted my other blue mystic to the cfl chamber as well.
