I have about 20 plants in a 4x8 area, temp kept at 80 degrees, 5 gallon buckets, organic soil, 20 dollars a bag, a 600 hps, a 315cmh, and six 170watt qbs with another 8 t5, 320 watt. I am looking for the best light configuration for these lights. Please and thank you. Again, 4x8, 600 hps, 315 cmh, 6 1 foot by 2 foot qbs 170 watts each, and an 8 light t5 led.

I just bought my second one. My plants seem to love it and it’s been growing wonderful

Thank you, I have way too large of an area for my one hps 600. I have 2 hids, and a ton of led.
:weed: 3 x 1000 hps
No offense, but you have to be cool with the people here. I know you want help and are excited but there are a lot of people who would help you more if you were nice and polite.
Good luck on your first. After more than 10 years it becomes old hat.

4' X 8' --- Mixed bag of lights.
How to get even coverage?

IMHO - turn off ALL lights in the tent.

Place one light and strike it - remember (or mark) the border of the light on the floor. Now turn it back off and don't touch it again.
Hang & strike the next light, move the light until your borders overlap by a few inches.
Repeat until the entire floor is covered by overlapping borders.
** remember that your plants do not grow at floor level - your light "pools" must account for height.

It's not an ideal setup - but if it's growing plants and keeping you and yours happy - then keep it up and enjoy!

Maybe try two boards on your far left, 600w hps, 315cmh with the other 4 boards surrounding it.

That will light your 4x8 up. Might get slightly different growth on one side to the other but you should have plenty of light.

Will do thank you.

Thank you very much, if its different then it will be a good observational experience, which from what I read the cmh has uvb and the hps does not. Sounds like a plan, im going to set them up today. Will report back. Thank you.

This is what I was looking for, its not in a tent I can use any of the area in a temp controlled room. So I can adjust the footprint. Right now its 4x8 because

I'm defo not an expert, so my $.02 is just that.

In the upper left of the shot, some of your tallest colas seem to have outgrown the light - maybe put them there?
Other than that, "appears" even.

It's really tough to even out lighting with mixed sources - especially grow lights.
Burples, & Far red / IR appear differently to our eyes than they do to plants, so it's almost impossible for the human eye to accurately depict the output of a 5w / 5600k white light vs a 5w / 600+nm red light.
(sorry for the K / nm mix - apparently wedding cake isn't such a good morning clarity strain...) bongsmilie

If you can adjust your footprint, then maybe consider a SCROG and pack colas into the canopy tighter and consolidate your lighting footprint.

Other spectral weirdness:
Boats & planes usually employ red night lights at the foot level - red doesn't kill night vision.
Red is absorbed very quickly underwater - 25% @ 2ft depth IIRC.

I definitely would love to try Scroggins, this is my first time I'm just trying to get the lights, airflow, temp, humidity, nuts, and watering down. I didn't know it was this much work. God bless you guys who have done this forever. I will work on getting them off the wall and install two new 20 amp circuits for the setup. Then setup the lights like you said. Maybe arrange some of them, there is a 8 lights t5 ho with leds in it also on the far end.
