Hello all! I'm nearing the end of my first grow from some bag seed. However I'm concerned because I'm not getting much swell, but also getting orange/red pistils where some nugs look done with no white pistils, others got plenty of white pistils. I failed to acquire a loop yet fyi. One problem I've had that I believe is major, has been humidity being 60%+ for the last 4 weeks with nights easily getting 90%+. I've attached some pictures taken just hours ago. I personally count this as week 6-7 since I first noticed pistils/baby nugs aug 11. Temperatures are expected to hold 45-85 till mid october. Any advice on how long to wait? Are some nugs ready even with their small size? Thanks EDIT: I've used Neem oil to help with pests which aren't rampant and I hope it stays that way.

Not ready. I hate to tell you this but you have some bud rot going on. The 3rd picture for sure. Also the 7th picture looks like it as well. Don't spray neem on plants that far along in flower. You're better off letting the bugs eat the leaves than ruining your weed with neem oil.
Yeah I was thinking that third was looking ugly. I'll take a closer look at the area on pic 7, i thought it was just a lot of yellowing and browning of the sugar leaves. What mainly made me neem them a week ago was i occasionally see a spider web strand and some little green guys scurry around a leaf. Also idk how to thumbs up but maybe i haven't posted enough to be able or i would've. thanks
yeah, going to further inspect and snip away the rot in a couple hours. Hate how much effort i've put in to not have cola's at least 3 inches fat, but i have learned a lot this first season. One being my area may not be viable for outdoor growing because humidity is always 60%+ from august till october. Only week that wasn't bad was after Ida's remnants swept through my area(WV), humidity actually dropped to 30-50% for 5 days. Guess I'll get knowledge from this even if the harvest between....5 F***ING PLANTS... ahem is only an ounce lol

In my situation, depending on how bad i find the rot to be should i just cut my losses and dry and cure what i can now? the next 10 days are going to be mostly 70-90% humidity with some nights looking like tonights in the pic below.

Outdoors you're at the mercy of Mother Nature. You can try to prevent it but it can be difficult.
It sucks but it is what it is. Been there done that. I just noticed a suspicious looking spot on one of my outdoor plants and upon further inspection found that there were several small caterpillars inside. I cut that off and burned it with a propane torch. I'm lucky I caught it early. Shit happens to all of us no matter how long we've been growing.
You have some time still until those are really ready but if you start finding a bunch of bud rot you may want to just take them down early. Once it starts spreading it can go pretty fast.

That's a tough one, I'd personally chop and get some unripe bud compared to losing 90% to budrot. It's going to spread very quick with that sort of weather. It's a lot easier said than done though to chop early. Super painful. Maybe do an experiment and leave half, compare results to see if it was worth it.
I feel the pain too, and almost every night my humidity goes to 90%. It's still viable for growing, we just have to pick the right strains and give every ounce of preventative measure we can. There's a lot that can be done for next season to at least save a portion of the harvest. Look into Regalia, Actinovate, chitosan, etc.
I gave my brother a durban poison bagseed and it's doing well with no rot, same with my Girl Scout Cookies crosses. Both coastal fog environment. For next year I'll be going with fast-finishing sativas or GSC crosses exclusively, no more indicas, along with every preventative measure I can do.

yeah i thought it may read that way. If i chop now it won't be with enthusiasm, it'll be with disappointment. I'm just concerned 100% of the girls will rot with the high humidity; so i'm mainly wanting peoples perspective on the humid forecast, and what i've gotten so far in rot. I'd much rather wait 3 more weeks at the hope they'll double in size; but my gut is saying i'll likely end up with rotten garbage. going to snip rot away and inspect further right now. be back with pictures in an hour or two.

I'm across the border in VA and have been lucky in that I have electrical access so I can run fans full bore 24/7 on my girls but I am dealing with the same humidity all most. You guys have had it a little worse than we have for sure. Is there anyway you can get some fans on them to help push air on them at night? Even battery powered or jerry rigging up a car battery and a DC powered fan just to try and keep the air moving as much as possible. I don't know how you are setup so it's hard to guess. Sorry to hear about all the trouble, we've been getting heavy rain for 12 hours now and it's supposed to go on till tomorrow morning. Maybe 2 inches before it's all done so I can feel your pain for sure. Hope it works out for you.
No i racked my brain on that one. my spot is quarter mile from any power, and after inspecting them further, i decided to hell with it, next spring is another season and i'll plan better. I've only gotten half of one plant trimmed, paying extra attention to which nugs look rotten and which don't - breaking them in half just to be certain on certain nugs. They're actually a little fatter and dense than i expected . The bag the seeds came from is SUPER airy and fluffy, hard to believe these are the same strain just one generation older. I'll post pics of the dried dirt the seeds came from and a trimm picture in a bit. Still a shame, if humidity was lower for the next 10 days i'd have no worries about letting them grow some more.

Here's a comparison pic of what I got the seeds from, and what I've just trimmed to hang up shortly. I don't believe the friend took much care, because how that bit of flower on the left looks now is exactly how it arrived lol. Almost like brick weed, but never bricked lol

Lol ya know I got to thinking...if I'm having to pull mine but my friend doesn't check maybe 2-4 times a month; no wonder that stuff smoked like mids...and now I'm savy on the potential mold factor

I did harvest and got them in a 70 degree room with dehumidifier set to 55(hose on the drain). I won't lie though, I've tried some of the .2-.4 popcorn nugs. Clearly not done drying(only been 3 days) but I can say right now it's a good buzz, but won't knock your socks off. I do hope in 5-8 days they're done drying, and after a two week cure, are slightly more potent and smooth. I plan to post some end of trim, end of drying, and end of cure pics. Just feel there should be more examples of that. Thanks again all for the help finishing my first grow!
