First grow journal 4th grow

Hello everyone. I am a great admirer ofthe growers here. I was following growmau5 on youtube and he always talked about this site so i figured id give it a try.

So i am a newb who had poor success (with friends as partners) with past grows. But now ive done tons of research and now i am on my own. Any comments to tell me how im doing stuff wrong please let me know. Thanks =)

So where to start.. I bought 5 x white cookies and 5 x white widow og from crop king seeds. Shout out to them.

I had all 5 WW pop wit roots but only 3 r showing leafs and 2 came up but with little root and still stuck in seed. Not sure why.
The WC 3 germed 2 did not. All three showing leaf.

Grow room size.
I have a 3x3 veg room with a mars 300 and a mars 2 96 or something.

Is a 5 x 5 tent will have 12 x cxb3590s run at 50w @1400ma. Plan was 16 but my tranny blew up in the mustang -.-

Nutes. I will be useing remo nutes. Because i am canadian i love to support canadians.

They werr planted in sunshine mix #4 on dec25.

Heres an update for January 4th 2017.

Not too much to say. On the bigger plants i see few root coming out bottom so prob a week or so for first transplant.
Do you guys recommend cups to 1 gal then 3 gal? Or cups to 3 gal?
Im thinking ill do cups to 1 gal then 3 gal in veg. See how they do. I have a few friends who do clone red solo cups right to 17 gal containers veg for 2 to 3 weeks then flower. Gets great results then other buddys says its better to do cups to 1 to 3 gal over veg. They say it makes for a stronger root ball at end container. I dont know guess ill test it.
The temp and humidity shown is pretty constant when lights on. I have a humidifier and an extraction fan running 24/7 and LED lights are on 20/4 and they are about 27 to 28 inches above the tallest seedling

Welcome to RIU you're looking good so far bud.
I would go with the 3 gallon pots, more room for the roots to grow never hurts.
Looks like it should be a fun grow.

Hey thanks for lookin. I think im just going to go straight to the 3 gals. I gave them some nutes last night as a test. Gave them 1/4 strength at 6.1ph. They look like they liked it. I will post pics later

What up Doc?

I envy you my neighbor to the north. I wish the USA would be as smart as Canada and end the worthless prohibition of cannabis in our country but alas. Your grow is looking good so far. The issues with the funky plants could be due to crappy genetics. Where did your genetics come from? I know you said you got seeds from the King but I was wondering what breeder or brand of genetics you bought. I also wonder because I have never had a seed not germinate for me (knock on wood).

Also, I start all my seeds off in a 3 gallon smart pot and keep them in that for the whole grow. I have found that i get faster growth from seed this way without transplanting them from smaller pots first. You just need to water a small area around the seedling, not the entire pot. It saves a lot of hassle and no worries about fucking them up.

Dont be envy of us canadians so far a bunch of the USA has gone legal. Its very much a grey area here.

Not much to update. I have made up my flower tent. Ordering up 12 x CXB3590's 3500k run at 1.4amp or 1400mah. For a tatal of 600 watts first then later add abother 200wat bar after. I am not 100% sure where the gentics came from. But ive been watching a lot of the grow boss and it makes me think my veg lights were to close to the plants making them mini so i have moved my LEDS up a bit. Please see pics. I also topped all plants this morning and will prob top dress the soil with hydroballs or perlite tmrw to prevent the soil concaving.
The plants seem to be doing a lot better once i moved the lights up. I added a pic of the packaging of the WC

Forgot to add. No nutes have been added yet except for root zone.

Not much to update. My friend who has a 17 light op in his basement told me i transplanted ibto 3gal pots too early. So next time i will wait a bit longer. One ofmy runt white widows is showing signs of something. I am not 100% sure whats wrong with it but i believe she is hungry for nutes or my light was too close.

Ive been watching garden resuce and other videos by growboss on youtube. While watching that i looked at all my plants and thought to myself my plants seem really miniature and i had 3 nodes on a half inch of space. So i figured i would try lifting my LEDs and see how they react. They seemed to love it all lefts are turned up and looking good.

I foiler sprayed 50% strength velokelp and calmag from remo nutes yesterday. Some of my plants are purple on top of leaf stem and beautiful green underneath the leaf stem so i figured it was a calcium deficiency. Tho every grow ive done most always have purple stems n i could never figure out why.

Now here is some seedling porn without the purple nights.
