Hey RIU community glad to join all of you guys! Have been a reader for a while now joining the ranks and starting a grow journal of my own!
Ok so a little about myself real quick. Started gardening about 7 years ago in soil but very quickly moved into the realm of hydroponics and fell in love with it. I still always dabble in soil but majority of my experience stems in hydroponics. Over the years I have done many styles of hydro including ebb and flo, DWC, drippers, aeroponics, vertical gardening, and even dabbled some in aquaponics. Never really tried NFT, although the vertical gardening was sorta like an NFT in a way.
So the beginning of this of course is pretty mundane... I know nothing really fun to look at yet and quite a while till the seedlings bud but bare with me, and continue to the end! You will be rewarded for your enduring efforts!

What we got:
Here's my sprouting seedlings and the list of strains below:

Strains (All Seeds from Herbies Head Shop and germinated using paper towel method):
The very first strain I ever flowered was a white strain: White Rhino. I since have always wanted to grow a white strain and this one had been on my list! The reason for the regular seeds was the availability and I wouldn't mind getting some male genetics to work with knowing how uniform the prodigy of the cross the males must have good genes to offer.
For now here are the new prodigy to take the place of the old Moms are outside to flower
A little stress from adjusting to their new home but starting to green up nicely.

Setup (For Now):
SO NOW HERE IT IS!
Thanks for baring with me its a lot of info and personal insights into decisions, my history, the current story, etc. that its a lot to write, and as well I know a lot to read. Anyhow now its off to the races.
First Grow:
So here's some pictures first of the first grow I did getting my feet wet reentering the gardening world. Both of these grows are the Sour Tangie mentioned above.
This first one was an ebb and flo (ebb and grow) in hydroton in a (failed) SCROG where it ended up as a skeletal support after the net filled up and then some due to a heat induced extreme stretch.
(I did forget how much sativas stretch but compared to the second grow I can confirm the excessive stretching induced in this strain was due to the heat)
So some issues on this batch:
ARGH!
Even so pulled in a pound off of 8 plants under two 400W combined with the problems I was still pleased. Finished quicker than the Sour Tangie I read about and apart from early flower when there is a distinct sour smell, not really diesel but sour, the citrus comes through in the last few weeks.

This citrus aroma is what dominates between the two in the final product and the flavor on the palette. I was hoping for more of the sour to come through but instead mostly citrus. After a few weeks time in the jar curing citrus is distinct but so is a subtle skunk odor possibly attributed to the Tangie genes.
Not entirely what I was expecting might be the guy just got a weird pheno which if anything leans very heavy on the Tangie side and has a hair more indica in her, I believe which could acount for the shorter flowering time. This was seen both indoor and outdoor.
This first batch burns a little harsher than the second. I was expecting longer flowering times and looked under full spectrum light one day and was like, "Oh Crap almost done gotta flush!!!!" So didn't get the flush I wanted. Second batch was much smoother.
Here's all the nice bud pics from the first grow after 4 years!

Don't worry you guys not leaving you hanging this is but a taste of what's to come. I can only upload 10 pics so this next post is gonna be some pics from the harvest and finished product of this first batch and second batch of Sour Tangie... well it will be tomorrow as it is getting late and I need to sleep but the rest is to come.
I appreciate your current reading and please follow me and this thread as I grow some old school and new school strains as well as some which might be just out there.
I authorize any and all to post in this grow journal just make sure you guys keep it chill and don't be dicks. Happy growing and toking!

So some issues on this batch:
- At the beginning of flower while I was on leave for 2 days we had a large heat wave and for some weird reason my portable AC shut off. First and only time so far it has done this. Lights shut off with a temp sensor so minimal burn but the stretch was extreme.
- Temps got so high my water cooling system couldn't keep up for the lights so put them back on normal exhaust system and then wasn't able to use the light mover so the edge of the canopy did not fully develop.
- The room developed a leak and I was loosing my CO2 too fast so stopped running that after 2 weeks.
ARGH!
