First grow need recommendations

So I have done some reasearch and looking for advice from experienced growers. I have a spare bedroom I am going to use roughly 12' x 12'. I want to use a hydro set up thinking of going with a "brain bucket" pots system with rockwool but i could maybe be talked into an ebb and flow table. I really want a professional system because I am not a DYI kinda guy. I want to set up with roughly 20 plants and I have decided to go with "think different" strain from DP as my first grow. I have a $2000 budget for my grow equipment.

Hopefully that gives you enough background info so these are the questions I can't seem to decide. Do i need a grow tent as i dont really want to alter the room much. If so how big a tent would i need? 1000 or 600 hps bulbs? I Am thinking 2 1000w units is that enough? To keep down the heat I'm thinking of a 15000btu portable ac unit. Probably not going with co2 this first go round or is that necessary? And finally what nutes would work well for this? I know that's a lot to ask sorry hoping my first go round will be as successful as possible.

First grow I would start simple.. I would get 2 tents to start. One for veg one for flowering.. You can use mh for veg if you want, or you can use t5. I would get 3x3 or 4x4 tent with a 600 or 1k hps with a nice reflector. I wouldn't do hydro, t that's up to you, honestly, once you get experience get 2-3 more tents, and work on perpetual harvests...no matter if simple or big... I would strongly advise quality equipment...

Blockbuster for reflector
gorilla or secret jardin for tent
quality bulb
all t5 are basically the same... But a quality won't hurt.

You're going hydro for your first grow? Good luck with that. If you're going to run Think Different, then you don't need to listen to firedragon. Think Different is an autoflowering plant, so you don't need a veg set up for this grow. This time of year, I'd hold off on the ac unit. If your room is big enough you might not have any heat issues. Co2 is naturally present in the atmosphere, and you're new, so I'd stay away from that for a while. If you're going to run a lot of Think Different, you're going to be paying for a lot of seeds, for a long time. You can't clone autos, so you're doomed to begin from seed. One bit of advice, I'd start them at different times. For example, plant three plants and get them going, then wait two weeks and plant three more, etc. This will save you from getting your ass kicked come harvest time. You'll be trimming a lot of plants, so stagger it out a bit. Also, keep popping seeds every two or three weeks and you'll always have something ready to go. Think Different isn't very high quality, but I understand the attraction for new growers. You've probably seen some of the record grows with it. Don't expect that kind of yield though. Those growers were pros and were focusing entirely on one plant, using in completely dialed in set ups. Those guys are legitimately experts. You could expect a yield of one to four ounces per Think Different for your first grow. My advice: get some good regular genetics and veg longer if you're looking for good yield and quality.

My first grow I started out with hydro - let me tell you, it was an experience but cost more for start up than I needed to spend and was way more intensive than I was ready for at that beginner stage. If I were to do it over again - I'd start simple. Soil is the way to go - it will save you a lot of money. Hydro you need to worry about PPM, pH, and TDS (which you'll need a meter or meters for) as well as proper aeration (so air pumps and air stones), water temp, etc. You'd want an osmosis system or what I did was just went out and bought distilled water every time.

Auto flowers you cannot clone, and they're crossed with Ruderalis to make them auto generally auto's have less potency than a normal sativa, indica, or hybrid so I'd invest in an indica if I were you as it'll be indoor. Indicas flower faster and you don't have the height issues that you'd have with sativa's and keeping them a good distance from your lights. I'm not sure if you're looking to do a perpetual harvest or what but usually to cut down on "down time" in between harvests you'd want a room or tent for your clones/mothers while they veg and a flower room.

You can veg with t5s or t8s which is the cheapest method to go and room isn't so much a factor with the fluorescents since they don't give off the same heat as an HPS. Depending on how many plants you're rocking, I'd get a 1000 watt HPS with a good enclosed reflective hood and a good digital ballast. Also some sort of AC system and exhaust fan, thermal ducting, and get a temp/humidity meter. If you go with soil, which again I recommend, I'd get smart pots as well so the root zone stays as happy/healthy as possible. Also - nothing wrong with synthetic ferts, but I prefer to leave those with hydro as it's cleaner for the hydro system. But with soil they're high in salt and can give you a nute lock out. Stick with organic teas - again it will save you a lot of money and hassle and it's natural and you won't ever have to mess with ppm or ph. You could get a co2 tank and regulator but not necessary for the first grow. It does help the plants deal with heat better and generally keeps them healthier.

I'm sure I'm forgetting stuff. But keep your first grow simple. I'd just worry about lighting, heat, humidity, ventilation, and what kind of soil/feeding program to use. That's enough to worry about.

Dude if this is your first grow..
Do soil... nothing fancy....
Probably start with a 400W MH/HPS so you can then use that later for a veg light.
Or if you a big balla then jump straight to the 1K MH/HPS

But honestly this would be my set up

Veg Room Sunblaze T5 48(2ft x 4ft) w/ bulbs - $250
Flowering room 1000 Watt HPS - $750

Your going to need a tent for one of the other.. or for both...

Switch plants around every 1.5 months.. Yeild anywhere from 16-28 Ounces with that every 1.5 months.
Should be more then enough for you.
