First grow - NL#5 x Haze

Ok so here is my set up,

I have two grow tents:

1 = 4x4 grow tent with a 1000w MH (pictured) for vegging.

1 = 5x5 mylar grow tent with 1000w HPS for flowering.

I have four inline fans:

2(6") = Cooling the lights

2(4") as air intake.

I have also installed two pieces of ducting to act as exhausts.(pictured) With the pressure in the tents, the air is pushed out of these exhaust ducks without the need of a fan.

Right now I have 16 Northern Lights #5 x Haze clones in there which I started on 12/21/2010. I am planning on veggining them until they hit 2 weeks, topping them, letting them veg for 8-10 more days and then flowering them. I hope they will only stay about 3-4 feet tall or less because my HPS light hangs kind of low on the yo yo's in the 5x5.

I also can't get the light any lower in my flowering tent, as pictured. I hope this is ok.

What do you think?

I can't

Ok so I did some reading today and I found that clones of NL#5xHaze without any veg time get 3-4 feet! So after 6 nights of vegging, I decided to top the plants in an effort to help keep them short. They are about 6-7" tall and at the 4th-5th internode. This won't hurt my yield will it?

Ok here they are after 9 days in flowering. They haven't really stretched that much, I am hoping they get maybe a foot or so taller. What do you guys think? Will they still stretch for a little while?

Also, I put a layer of perlite on top of the soil because I had some gnats flying around and I read on here that its a good way to keep them off the soil. However, I was wondering, with the perlite on top, will watering with nutes and molasses get stuck on the perlite? Will the perlite have any negative effect? Thanks, and sorry for the low quality pics, my digi cam sucks

I know, I did a lot of research on forums and tried to figure out how many plants I should do in there. Most places said 1 per square foot. some others said 3 rows of 4 or 4 rows of 4. So I went with 16, and I am hoping that this will still turn out ok.

Ok so here they are at day 21 of flower. I transplanted them into bigger pots 5 days ago, and they are looking fine, didn't seem to hurt them at all. They are getting a little bigger, and are showing a lot of bud sites! I hope they get a little bit taller. What do you guys think? Once again sorry for the low quality pics, shitty camera.
