First Grow of 2010

Just finished my first grow ever in January and I have already planned/ordered my beans now just waiting to start. Any help/advice is always welcome and I appreciate any and all help from everyone here as your information on riu helped my first grow be successful. I am growing

I grow with cfls I don't have exact numbers right now and I'm adding more since this is bigger than my first time so I will update this with everything else info wise when I get my beans and officially start everything.

well damn if u bought all thoses?? upgrade your lights

haha i was thinking about it after the first grow but I also don't know where I'm growing after this one because I might be moving so I probably will just stick to cfls because they are cheap. lol I did pay for a lot of beans but haha money for beans is essential to have the nice strains lol but yeah I might get different lighting it just seems like cfls are the cheapest way to get good results. I had 7 plants last time 2 being runts and I had a pretty decent yield from the best 2 plants. What lighting did you have in mind?

hid/mh thats what i would pick up, but for u a hid, 400 from htg supply they come something like a little above 100 bucks..., then use your cfls to veg and/or create mother plants and set up a flowering box

the main problem is I only have one room to veg/flower everything and the people who I share my place with are mad paranoid already so I doubt they would want me to get a HID/mh just for the fact that they would think that bacon would be flying over our house with thermals and shit. But lol writing bacon flying over our house made me think of pigs flying so damn i guess pigs do fly. but yeah I would love to use a hid or mh just because i would yield so much more but i doubt my roomies would go for that. OH! and I wanted to ask if anyone has any specific tips that would help with any of the above strains^^^^^

oh btw I use a mix of mg african violet soil with perlite and sphagnum moss added for soil aeration and i will be using big bloom and tiger bloom with molasses in flowering only used water and molasses last grow.

Alright tiny update my attitude order is about to come in the next couple of days which is always exciting....and it was extremely fast.....feb 2nd ordered and by feb 4th it was already in the states. My single seed center order is taking a little longer than expected and I'm a little worried but its all good gotta be patient I'll post again when I get everything

no pics but I planted all but 4 midnight kush and the freebie sharksbreath because i didn't end up having enough pots I miss counted. Anyways after a week all the plants have popped and sprouted so I am currently 13 for 13 using just straight to soil no germ method. I used the paper towel method my last grow but figured a lot of people talk about the least amount of stress being just planting in soil. The yumbolt is the biggest but one of the super lemon hazes seems to be catching up and sadly the blueberry might end up being a runt its tiny in comparison the to the rest of them. I will try and get a camera to get some pictures up and shit asap

yeah so still no picture updates but basically just came to express how happy I am that I am 18 for 18 on germinations and all my girls are healthy and sexy. My LA Woman was a twin so I seperated them and gave one to a friend and the transplant was even successful so hopefully the rest of this grow continues to go as planned. And just wanted to say how hilariously cartoonish the bigger cfls start looking I just picked up a 68 watt cfl (300 watt equiv not that it matters) but anyways its funny how big it looks

hey quick question to anyone who can answer it but my lights kicked the circuit and my lights were off for a couple of hours and i was wondering if i am just completely fucked and will have balls popping everywhere. We just changed the light cycle to 18/6 if that helps at all for informations sake

Not that anyone is actually reading or following my grow journal but the burn that happened to my blueberry ended up basically topping it which is what I was hoping would end up happening so I am pretty boosted because it cause two of the lower branches to grow to the top and it also topped into 4 tops so I'm happy and lucky

finally counted the watts its 836 watts in all cfls
