Outdoor in a pot, organic. Using an organic potting soil that's quite similar in composition to Ocean Forest, extra worm castings and perlite. Will be feeding with the Blue Mountain Organics line and some supplemental hydrolyzed fish and seaweed fertilizer.
Not trying to get too crazy for my first time, and in all things I subscribe to the KISS philosophy.

GHSC Super Lemon Haze.
Should be great weather to grow here in Socal through June/July, I'll probably have to be careful in late July/August though.
We'll see how it goes. I'm hoping for the best, preparing for the worst and likely it'll come out somewhere in the middle.

Agreed on that, plenty to read, and learn - if you need or want book recommendations or have issues with plant diagnosis... please do not wait a week before you post. Pics immediately will help us fix your ladies before they're getting to the certain death stage.

As long as you're prepped for 2 major headaches, the rest should fall into place. Those 2 are spider mites, and aphids.

Hopefully I never see a single one, but I'll be ready to take care of them. I'm more concerned about cats eating my plants than just about anything else...tons of strays around here, not to mention my own.

Understood, the last thing you want is cats playing with your crops.. there's methods for this though - you can scare them without doing damage if you don't have to deal with high winds / heavy gusts.. and your plants are in pots on a solid surface. Set mouse traps and put them upside down near the plants. The first time one is stepped on, it'll snap without doing damage and it scares the shit out of most of them. (I've only seen 1 Maine Coon happen to hit 5 or 6 of them and completely ignore the noise and sudden movement, as an aside.)

Upside down traps work awesomely for outdoors with solid ground under them.. same with indoors.. and with indoors, I'd also use just a lil' bit of chili powder - first bite will send them running for a water dish.. and they will not return for round 2 - rest assured. hahahaha

I put a cut out cat from cardboard, (got my kids to colour it in and put glass marbles as eyes) once In my garden to protect my tomato plants from cats shitting in em, that worked aswell.
