Hi All,
First grow, first post, first sleepless nights worrying about my girls all alone in the woods. Plants are from bag seeds and I planted only two because the authorities just aren't going to get excited if/when they spot only two of them from the air.
I got started late and they're five or six weeks from germination, little pot, bigger pot, 2 gallon pot and then planted in the ground. I'm using regular old miracle-gro because I didn't know dick about growing organic when I started this, and I was in a hurry. I figured if I always went a little light on the amendments concentrations I'd be in good shape. Calcium and Magnesium are completely absent from my MG formula so I'm going to start adding that soon.
They're planted in a pretty inaccessible spot near my house. The only reason I can get to them is I whacked out a trail thru the brush from my backyard, (now that was work) otherwise it's a 30 minute hike from the road just to get to the general area. Fingers crossed, I think I'm safe. I dug approx 3-foot-wide holes 20" deep and backfilled with the existing 80-yr-old-dirt (it's in a recent clear cut) and 50% perlite. This is Oregon and since going outside two days ago they've gone from about eight hours daylight in pots to about 15 hours now in the third week of July.
> I "think" they're both girls, but this is the noob section.
> I "think" they're healthy, but this is the noob section.
> Would switching to organic amendments now help anything?
> When should I start with cal-mag?
> Should I do any more topping or just use a netting structure to keep branches spread out?
> Should I worry about them getting too tall and visible or they just too small at this late date for that to happen?
Any insight much appreciated. I'm going to continue to post on the grow so please let me know if I should move it to Grow Journals.
Many thanks all
