This is my first post. I am so excited I just couldn't resist.. I am stoned, so bear with any ramblings. I am 50+ years old with a little time on my hands...
What I have done is read endless hours of journals and based upon that digested and redigested knowledge I decided to basically give my hydro supplier a quasi blank check and told him too hook me up.
After seeing various grows I decided the best way to get through my own various learnng curves, would be to keep it simple.
I have framed out a 10'x6' room. I have wired each room to have it's own own 110 20A circuit. Mother/veg room is 5x5 and a flower room of the same size. Mother room has a 250W MH (mother plants) and a 4' T5 4 bulb reflector for clones and veg. I also have in that room a 4" Ative Air 165cfm inline fan with a carbon Active Air Scrubber. Flowering room I guess is the same but on steroids. 600W Yield Master II sealed & vented hood, 6" Can Fan with a larger Organic Air carbon scrubber. I have an entire line of Fox Farm nutes and feeding guides. I am flowering in 4 gallon pots with some really expensive organic potting soil. The flowering room has a 20 amp 240W line dedicated to the HID/Ballast and timer. Each room has a thermostat controlled day/night programable 3,5 or 7 degree settings.
The reason I have opted to grow now is I have acess to Alaskan Thunder Fuck and Matuska Valley Mist clones. I have also ordered 4 femenized (2 sativa and 2 indica) strains (Diesel,White Widow, AK48 & Kush strain) from Nirvana.
I have opted to make at least the first grow in soil as to have a little less need for critical micro controls. I think my general philosophy will be to keep the ladies smiling and tend to a little less nutes that recomended.
My grow will be in 4 gallon pots with a 4x4 footprint.
I am venting the flower room directly out of basement through dedicated dryer vent 12 feet away with no elbows. Ambient air temps outside of room are between 65 and 70 year round (warmer in winter as I suppliment heat in winter with a coal stove. Next winter I will vent this right into the basement as addition heat suppliment (if odors allow.) I also have 12" occilating wall mounted fans in each room.
I will have 10 clones ($100 each) 12" clones under lights sometime on Monday. Should I just let them go? I plan on 18/6 until I see vigorous growth. Should I, in keep it simple philosophy just let them go & flower as they or should I consider LSTing keeping it simple and train them down?
Thanks for reading my journal and thanks to all who inspired me to take the leap into a little greener greener air.
