First Grow (Wedding Cake)

DAY 91 (Day 48 of Flower)

Sorry for not posting for so long! Been busy with other things and honestly there’s not a whole lot happening. Not to say what is isn’t SUPER exciting..

I’ve just been giving straight water since I did the top dressing. Twice since then I’ve also used some kelp extract (1-0-0). I’ve stopped because I don’t think the plant is really Uptaking nitrogen, just moving it.

More and more pistils are turning orange every day now! She’s getting thicker as well too. I’ve been pulling off dying/drooping/EASILY removed leaves. I give it a little push down or backwards with my finger and if it doesn’t come off I leave it.
Some are turning purple. I’ve been trying to make it less humid and cooler at night but it’s not really doing much. Gonna have to use a dehumidifier in that room to make a difference.

Thinking I have a couple weeks left but I’m really getting close.. I checked trichs today just for fun and they’re mostly TURNING cloudy, not all the way yet.
Time to get some boveda packs ordered..

In the last pic, that fan in the corner I believe is 5” or 6” diameter. I’ll post a pic with something for reference

Good job looks great

Day 109 (Day 67 of Flower)

Added a carbon filter made with ducting, activated carbon for aquariums, and a car filter. Works well enough will the window cracked.

Things are looking good, I’m just waiting for harvest now.. I’m seeing ambers on the sugar leaves and just a tiny amount on the buds. I’m gonna wait as long as I can but only many a week more maximum..

I’ve been pulling off the dead/falling leaves still and it seems there aren’t many leaves left, even some deep in the bud fell out when I flicked em.

Gonna flush once, maybe twice more before harvest. Brother and I smoked some I dried last night in my Xbox and it hit and tasted nice!! I have another tester nug hang drying for a test on doneness.

Any advice on when I should pull would be great, I’m starting to second guess myself a little bit.

Looking good. I just chopped my wedding cake 2 days ago. She went 73 days from flip.

Biggest and nicest colas ive grown yet, hopefully it smokes as good as it looks.

Ya heres a couple from harvest

DAY 110 HARVEST DAY

Chopped her tonight about 2 hrs ago. When I checkeed in her today most hairs had pulled even farther back and it just looked done. Also all the leaves were dried and pretty much dead because it needed to be watered. Looked great when trimming and smelled great!
Not sure on total weight but I’m thinking 1-3 oz when dried. Had all my buddies come help and it took almost no time at all.
So excited to try my tester nug that’s drying from a couple days ago..

Alrighty guys it’s been a few days and they seemed dry enough. Didn’t want to leave em hanging longer because I couldn’t get the humidity over 46%. Anyway I jarred them up after a quick (pretty close) trim. Saving the trim for edibles (maybe..)

and I’m planning on curing sort of 3 different lengths of time.
Right now I’m smoking a nug that’s been in the jar for like 8-10 hrs now. Rehydrated a little more than I would like so the jars are gonna be open for sure tomorrow.

Gonna do a shorter 3-4wk cure on some medium/small
Then a 2-3 month cure of some nicer ones (this will be my main smoke)
And then a few I will leave for 6-8 months out of curiosity to see if curing that long is worth it TO ME. I’m sure it makes a difference but waiting that long would be hard unless I can pull more quantity.

Probably got 2-3 ounces in total. Seems dense as it’s rehydrating so I’m gonna buy a scale very soon to weigh it (for future reference). I’m very very happy with the smoke and the whole experience. I learned a great amount and am still learning more everyday. Now to decide what seeds to plant next!
