Hi all,
This is my first ever grow, I have set it up in an old fish tank I had sitting round and decided to put it to good use at last. I had been given a big bag of unwanted, but collected seeds. Unfortunately I have no history on these seed at all. I was told two ways to get my seeds going so I decided to try both and see how it goes. the first way was to leave the seeds between two damp cotton pads for 24 hours the pot them in some perlite and soil (I used about 50/50 mix of perlite and soil, and the soil is Bio-Bizz all-mix) water them slightly and keep them in a propagater under light. The other way was to keep them germinating for a few days in cotton pads of till about a 1/4" tail on the seeds, then drop them in soil, and so on. The grow was half baked to be honest, but I have no money at all to spend on it (the misses handles the money and won't let me have any money towards it lol), so I made it purely from item's i found around the home, purely to get things started.
As I said before, the grow room is from an old fish tank I had sitting around, I foiled all the sides I got it as flat as possible to reduce sun spots, the top I covered over with foil to make a reflector, it's a flat reflector as you can see in the photo's but it works a treat still. The light is my bed side lamp thats been stripped down, I warry as it's only a 40W, but again, it's all I got for the moment, and until I can get some money to my name in my own ways, it's all I have for an option at the moment..
I already have my nutes at hand but got no intension of using them for a while yet, the water is awful here, but I have a process for as shown below:
First I boil the water and leave it aside to cool of, the I put it in a jug on the window seal for 24 hours for the sunlight (both advice given from my local hydroponics shop) then finally I adjust the ph level using vinigar to lower the ph level (using a PH tesk kit) would love to get a digital own though.
that about as far as I've got so far, I'm on day 3 now, I've been preping my self and trying to gain plenty of knowledge before had, but will have to see how thing go.
All advice, suggestions and questions welcome.
Kind regards,
Rob
