first grow

So this is my first grow and I did a lot of research before I went into it, and one of the things people say is to use a gallon pot for every foot of plant, well I have a four gallon pot and my plant is about 3 and a half weeks into veg and is about 14 inches tall and the roots are already headed out the bottom.... So should I transplant? Because I was hoping to be able veg for another week or two. But I feel like transplanting a 4 gallon pot will be difficult and I don't want to ruin my plant.

A 3 gallon would be fine, but if you are planning on vegging for another week anyway, I would put them into a 5 gallon pot. I left mine in a 3 gallon pot and wish I had made the jump up to a 5 before flipping the lights. Should improve your yield with a bigger pot.

This was mine (more in journal) about 4 weeks into flowering with a 3 gallon pot, she dries out almost every day and I need to water. A bigger pot may have helped:
