First harvest time?

Agreed, I would wait until more of the hairs recede into the bud. It will fill out much more. 1 week at least, maybe two more.

Do you have a magnifier? If so look up some scope pics of what the trics should look like
so you know for sure...

You need to check trichs at several locations around the plant and go by the average. At least 25% should be amber or you are harvesting too early.

I do have a good magnifier. I'm supposed to be looking at the pistils aka little white hairs to judged the trichs , right? With my lens I can clearly see the shape of the tri's on the leaves but the hairs on the hairs just look like hairs... schmarmpit, you said something about the pistils receeding into the bud? I haven't run across that indicater before. What should I watch for on that?

I'd definitely give it some time. The problem with everyone talking about trichome color is that its very easy to find the colors you want on an old leaf and say "Oh, this looks ready!". Trichomes evolve at different parts of the plant at different times, it is unreliable to take a look at a few dozen trichomes under a microscope, see most of them cloudy and one amber, and assume that represents the rest of the plant.

The whole plant will look DONE. Those white hairs are like green on a banana, you don't eat it with that much green! Most of those white hairs should be dead, red or brown, then you can start taking a look at your trichomes to determine how MUCH amber you want. But don't even bother looking at them crystals until your plant is ready!

My guess is you have at least 18 days until you should harvest that delicious looking bud :leaf:
