First Hermie! No!!

After coming home from out of town for 3 days I walk into the grow room to find that my elemental seeds Mango Tango has hermied on me. This is the first time this has ever happened, what a bummer. I'm a bit confused as to what may have stressed it out to the point of no return. Only thing I can think of is that my low temps during dark period had dropped to 59°F, ph has been low around 5.9 despite adding 3 cups of dolomite lime and flushing it 3 weeks ago with lite feeding from then on. Or that it could be root bound stress. What ever the case maybe the rest of the plants are doing just fine.

Let me know what y'all think. IMG_0129.JPGIMG_0128.JPG IMG_0127.JPGIMG_0132.JPG IMG_0135.JPG

Is this a clone from a known stable plant or is it from seed? it looks like like it didn't turn hermie it looks like it just is a hermie.

Yeah some feminized strains are unstable because the use colladial silver foliar spray to force it to have feminized pollen sacs then that trait is passed on to the offspring, but I don't know if urs was fem so it could have just been stressed and less tolerant than the rest under such conditions...

They are unstable to begin with using C/S doesn't make them unstable. rodelization breeds hemies for sure. Coloidal sliver breeds fem seeds that carry the traits of the mother plants if the mothers are unstable it's passed down. C/s stops the plants from producing ethylene causing it to produce pollen sacs rather than pistils. These pollen sacks are female containing no y chromosomes producing seeds that have no y chromosomes. I've made plenty of seeds useing C/s and have only run into trouble with strains that had a high tenancy to hermie to begin with. stable genes in stable genes out, regular seeds have just as high a chance to be hermies as fem seed. I've had more hermies from reg seed than fem.

Youd think if all the unstable/stable stuff was right it wouldnt be that hard to start producing strains that didnt hermie whatsoever...

This is Mango Tango feminized seed from Elemental seeds. Not trying to tarnish their name I've had great success with their genetics before. But yes you are 100% right about the colladial silver.

This is some interesting information, and great input. This puts me at ease because I was worried about breaking the sacks and potentially spereading polllen while taking it out of the Scrog.

I had to start over, so I have 4 strains that I'm growing together. I will pick the best 2 out of 4 and clone. So far Mango Tango is out and grizzley kush has been difficult.

It's just part of growing seeds. sometimes they're not all keepers. That's why we find a "keeper" and clone it and keep a mother plant.
