Well i finally got around to writing my own journal rather than lurking around here. I post rarely and lurk often, haha, i used to be a moderator for some forums and found the search button eliminates almost every urge i have to post as there is a lot of info already here. In any case here is the setup...
Currently...
24/0 lighting in both veg and clone area
2 DWC 15 gal res (filled with only 12 gal)
Airstones in each with pumps
2 150w CFL in veg space
1 100w CFL in clone space
Foxfarm Hydroponics Nutes
Using 6" net pots and hydroton grow medium (expanded clay pellets)
Veg room has a fan on it half the day too.
4 Plants from bagseed, 50 days old
Two look mostly indica, one looks like a cross, and the last one mostly sativa. They are really crammed in my system and i'm trying to figure out how to prune them back since i think the top canopy is taking over the new growth areas on the bottom and cutting out their light.
So here are my questions for you all, i have some plants getting what looks like nutrient burn, ruffling and curling of new growth (most old growth is ok) and some yellowing of tips and spotty areas of yellow, very scattered though and only a few leaves have gone bad which may have been them getting squished when changin res. I don't have a PPM meter till x-mas rolls around and i have been usin strong nutes so i'll try back it off a little. A lot of new growth has just a droopy look to it compared to old growth (maybe not enough light?). Also, after my clones root (i use rockwool cubes) should i only feed them water for the first week? Or just start with really weak nutes like 1/5? I'm going to do my 2nd round of clones soon i'm just waiting to see if the first set survive going into the dwc. I'm gonna get pics up in a day or two i just needa borrow a cam from some one. In any case, i was also wondering if my clones survive transplant into DWC and i start to flower them, how long would i have to wait to see sex as i'm using them to determine my larger plants. Also, i'm gonna just go for it and get a PH/EC/PPM meter but i don't know which one is a good deal. Any recommendations? I want something with a digital readout and hold button that is waterproof.
I'll post pics asap.
