Hello Everybody,
I finally got around to creating this thread. Took me about a week longer than what I wanted but here it is. I am planning to run one plant (maybe two) for a first time run indoors. I have a 5' x 5' mars hydro tent that I have not used yet other than for starting some pepper seeds last season. I have two fans that can be used for intake/exhaust, but I am not sure if just using one for exhaust with passive intake may be better. The light I have is the Mars Hydro TS 300. I have some smaller LEDs and a t5 that I need to dust off that I will use for the seed stage and the TS 300 after. I want to eventually move to maybe a single bucket hydro type set up but for this run I was planning on using what I have available, which is soil. I have Coast of Maine soil which I was planning to mix with some perlite. My thought when planning this was to run an auto flower first. I have done tons of reading about the pros/cons of auto flower and photo and realize that auto is going to be more unforgiving when (not if) an error or problem arises. As of now, I am thinking about running one feminized photo seed just to get the experience of this indoor under my belt. This way I will be able to focus all my attention on the one plant and take the lessons learned to expand to maybe two in the future. Anyone think it would be better to run two (1 auto and photo) for this run? I unfortunately only have one feminized photo seed at this time so running two photos is not an option. For nutrients I am planning on using Jack's Classic All Purpose 20-20-20. I have the Jack's here from using with my vegetable gardens. From the bit of research I did there seemed to be a fairly positive outlook on this nutrient formula. I know the n-p-k is not ideal, certainly not for the flowering stage. If anyone wants to offer some recommendations for maybe a different formula by Jacks or another brand, I am all ears. I do not have ppm meters (although that will be something I plan to add for future grows) so primarily I am looking for a feed that is fairly basic to follow. I have well tap water but also have a RO system so there are options for watering. I am suspecting the RO will be what I use as the water is fairly hard here. Below are pictures of the tent with the light, the soil, the nutrients, and the fans. I look forward to some input. Within the next few days I will make the decision on one or two plants and will start popping the seed(s). I look forward to any and all input and going through my first indoor grow with all of you.
