First indoor grow. Need help

Hi everyone, my first indoor grow and already made the mistake of treating coco like soil.
I didn't rinse the coco, didn’t buffer with Cal-Mag or any nutes and my watering was very insufficient.

Once i realized all that, seedling #1 was 22 days and #2-3 were 7 days since germinating.
All of them had signs of deficiencies.
i started feeding half of recommended dosage to all seedlings and seeing improvements.

i also ordered a Cal-Mag bottle but it will take some time until i get it.
Until then, is there anything home-made i can give them besides the organic feeding solution to boost Cal-Mag?

No, don't give anything more than what they need. They'll recover once you get them on track. Damaged leaves won't repair themselves, so watch the new growth up top to see how they're doing.

Thanks, im feeding them twice a day with half dosage and looks like they’re taking it well.

The containers they are in are a little big for them. Don't worry, just water near the plant, instead of around the outer edges of the containers. The reason smaller containers are better to start with, is because the roots are better able to reach the water. Next time start with a 1"sq or 2"sq, and move up in sizes as the roots fill up each container.

At the same time, you want to make the roots search for water, which promotes roots to grow. With that, DON'T feed your plants on a set schedule...not yet. When they get big, that's fine. For now, what you want to do is water your plants, until they start leaking out of the drain holes, and feel how heavy they are when full. Then, wait until they are real light when you pick them up, before watering again. You'll easily be able to tell when they need to be watered. Don't let them start wilting though. They don't like that.

I started the first one in a rockwool cube and then moved it to 0.5L
But the rest i put straight to the 0.5L containers since i only had that one cube.

About the watering, i read that coco shouldn’t be getting dry at all, is that only true for when they reach the vegetative stage?

Haven't heard that. Doesn't mean it's not true, just that I haven't read that. I've grown in Coco before, and that's the way I did it, with no issues.

Im still waiting for the GHE p.h test kit and adjusters i ordered along with Johnny Green’s Cal-Mag.
For now, im using tap water with the nutrients solution.
That's your issue, ph is important for plants to absorb nutrients. Having ph at whatever your water is, is effecting your plants, they are having a hard time cuz your ph is off.

Coco is considered "hydroponics", as there is no soil used as a medium. So, like ^^^ said, check your pH. Follow the "hydroponics feed charts", not soil. Requirements are much different between them. Optimal pH for hydro is 5.8 to 6.0.

Also, something I wanted to mention, in regards to trimming, and that is, I do way more tucking of leaves than trimming. If you're able to tuck a light-blocking fan below smaller fans below, do that. Way better than trimming the plant, which is literally damaging the plant.

Thanks for the tips and insights! As im waiting for the test kit to come in, i see healthy new growth and even #1 is starting to show signs of life after 3 weeks of shame.

So, i think i’ll keep feeding them until the test kit comes and then i’ll know where im at.
Also visited cocoforcannabis.com which looks like a decent source of info.

Have you gotten your calmag yet? You can use Epson salt for magnesium (you'll have to look at the ratio)

If you haven't done so already, go to the GrowWeedEasy site. Excellent source for learning lots about growing.

Im hoping to get it next week.
Saw this guy on youtube mixing barbecued egg shells, vinegar and epsom salts.
I can get the epsom salt immediately here at the pharmacy, they also have capsules which contain Calcium, Magnesium and Zinc.
What is better and do i just mix it with my nutrients solution?
