First scrog

Hi All, This is my first grow in a tent and my first scrog. After a rough veg with a few issues, the plant is back to healthy growth. I am now almost two weeks into flower. I plan on doing a final defoliation in a week. This is one plant in a 4x4 tent, with a 600w hps, roots organic soil in a 5 gal. pot. My question is regarding the number of bud sites. It seems like there are an awful lot but they all face the light uncovered. I was hoping to get big buds from my first tent grow, but I'm worried I might end up with a bunch of little ones. Any advice for this time or next time. Next time I am probably going to do at least two plants. Sorry about the color of the photos.

You will definitely have much smaller buds than say if you only had 6 main thick tops. You may get the same yield if your light coverage is good....but that does seem like too many tops for that size plant.

If its stable genetics, you can probably trim it up quite a bit and get rid of some of the weaker tops. That's what I've been doing to great benefit, I'm confident I'm working with stable genetics that wont herm

Are you saying all bud sites receive sufficient light yet still don’t appear to be growing large? It’s a bit unclear

A number of valid points were mentioned by others, particularly by
@T macc re pot size and root growth. Big roots = Big buds. The E=MC2 of cannabis growing

You started with “This is my first grow in a tent and my first scrog”. So, you’re ahead of the curve. Every grow will be better. Enjoy the process, not just the stone. Flowering canna delivers a lot of antioxidants and wonderful aroma. Enjoy your harvest. Keep at it. You’ll have more than you need

agree, with mickfoster. this is not quite a scrog. you need to aim for a more even canopy next time. bending and weaving them under the trellis to have them all same level, receiving equal light. im no expert by any means, but after the last bit of stretch i usually defoliate on day 21, and this may help you get better light coverage to the lower buds that are being coverd atm. sometimes if very apparent that i didnt do a good enough job lolipopping during veg, and i will take a few more of the lowers sites off, or lolipop to make sure only the top 3-4 sites get all the focus energy on building big colas. overall when i defoliate i would remove certain leaves to allow more light penetration. i still having a hard time figuring out how much is too much, and not wanting to stress the plant but that will come with experience.

im still fairly new at this too so maybe the vets can chime in more. GL

Thanks
That's not a scrog.......it's a trellis net.
They're weaved in there pretty good. But I stopped weaving after I switched to 12/12. Since then some have grown more than others, but that's only been in the last 2 weeks. Should I keep flattening them out and if so for how long?

Thanks! Some of the sites are growing taller than the others, despite being exposed to the same light. I guess I expected the canopy to stay more even than it has.
