SSH grows massively tall in the early stages of flowering. I mistakenly let a few grow to about 2.5 ft because I had mislabeled them earlier as H. Kush - yeah, not smart to label when you are medicated. They are now taller than me and I have had a hell of a time getting proper lighting.

I grow SSH in organic soil with organic nutrients and HPS lighting. For me, SSH produces really light and fluffy buds. It definitely is not something I would recommend for first grow indoors, but I have yet to master her particular needs, so dont let that discourage you if you are up for the challenge.

My advice: Anything over about 18" and you will be asking for trouble. She does respond well to topping early on in my experience.

I am absolutely ready for the challenge. Ive always loved to grow things and I put in the time, effort, and love for the plants. thanks for the replies, more pics soon

Great to see the progress. A couple tips for ya to maximize your chances for success:

1) This strain has a strong reaction to nutrients and pH fluctuations. Be sure to slowly dial in your nutrient regiment and always check your pH. She can go from "OMG thats beautiful!" to "OMGWTF!" in a few days.
2) She has many sativa traits, including longer flowering times, quick vertical growth pattern, sparse buds (almost non exisitent at the lower branches). Plan accordingly in terms of grow space, pruning, etc.
3) She loves light. I have never starved her for light, but once into flowering, there is a massive growth spurt. Be prepared to give her what she needs.
4) Very susceptible to heat stress and moisture loss that can cause her to lose massive amounts of leaves in no time, and in some cases, revert back to veg. I have only seen this once, and I attributed it to high temps in the grow area when my AC broke.

I have a couple in the last stages of indoor flowering right now (the ones that are taller than me). If you like, I will take some pics to show you what you are in for (in hopes you will take my mistakes and learn from them).

i would love some pictures. I've never dealt with silver before, much less indoors. I usually do indica outdoors and this challenge seems like a lot of fun. Any advice is appreciated. The ph is good right now and I will get at least one more light this week.

i see what they mean about most budding being at the top. I see tremendous progress in the growth of this plant. A new set of leaves every day it seems and a bunch of small ones growing from the base of the branches. It grows a lot faster than anything Ive dealt with. When should LST'ing be started? A little taller I'd imagine? Ive never had to do that before
