First Time AG. Bagseeds. Pics. HELP! when should i flower?

So i just started growing. my girlfriend had one of these machines so we thought we'd give it a try wiht some seeds from some bags of nugg.

we bought the tomato kit. 3 of the seeds were from recent bags. 1 looked very pre-mature. and the 3 on the front were from bags of the best nugg i had and found one healthy looking seed in.

So we planted 7 seeds in the 7 spots. a couple of them shot right out and are goin strong. others took a little long but by now are doing wonderfully. 2 have not shown very much progress past week 2.

the lights are 2 csl lights. that say 26w on them which im gonna assume is the watts. ive been using poland spring. as far as nutes, ive been using the ones in the kit. the small ones for the first 2 weeks, and now 2 big ones every 2 weeks.

it's the 4th week 4th day and theyre going GREAT! One is doing so well its banging into the light. the light is on its last hitch and i dont know if there are extensions. uh oh?

since this my first time im a little lost on what to do next. my buddy whos grown before suggested this site for answering questions. he says they look great and that i should plan on flowering really soon. but that he had no idea what to do next becasue hes never done anyhitg in the areogarden.

so im here, total newbie, saying please help. please check out my pics and tell me what to do next, and how to go about doing it. how much longer does it have do you think? what should i do about the lack of light height. do i move the plants to another hydro system? what lights to get, ect anything else you can see im doing wrong.

These plants look happy.

You are definitely ready to flower.

You can try taking the hood off of the arm to extend it more, or you can fim/top the plant.

If you are already hitting the top, you probably want to top the plant because its going to grow even more when you flower it.

Any extra amount of light is always good.

You want soft white (2700k) CFL bulbs for flowering, which it sounds like you have.

You want to pick up a light timer from Walmart or something like that so you can give your plant 12 hours of darkness to start the flowering stage.
Keep it on a 12 on 12 off cycle until the last day when alot of people give it 24 hours of darkness before harvest.

You will probably want a figure 8 cord (sold at Radioshack) too so you can keep your AG pump running while the light is off.

There lookin really good, so you have been adding two nute tabs each week? they seem to love it, maybe i can add a lil more dosage to my plants, i would flower now too, and as for the extension arm, i broke mine off so i can hang it freely above the plants, you should lookin into that, good luck man, any questions, i'll be posted

ive been giving them the 2 big nutes every TWO weeks. haha i dont want you to over nute your girls.

wiht the lights, the light comes out, but the chord is only so long and it plugs into the back of the AG. am i gonna have to cut wires here?

also, i read/heard that, because i dont know the strains the seeds come from, that i should wait 6 weeks before flowering.

well you can veg them as long as you want, they will triple in size, so you just calculate that into how much space you have to grow, but i kno bout the nutes haha, i was just sayin, normally its supposed to be one small tab a week, or one big tab every two weeks, thats why i was suprised you had good results with that

Thats the same as 1 nute/week thats fine.

No, dont cut anything, get a figure 8 cord from radio shack, that you can plug it into the ag light, then you can get another extension cord if you need it.

buy the figure 8 chord? Question: how does this work? it plugs into the wall and then has something for the light from my AG to plug into? and this will help wiht the 12/12 AND basically be an extender for the short chord that connect the light to the back of the AG?

also......

i have 2 weaker plants, should i toss em to make room for the others?




also, what should i plan doing for the flowering? should i leave them in the AG? should i wait for the smaller ones? what can i do about the crazy amounts of roots?

The reason i said at least 6 weeks was that i saw it on that "ready set grow" high times how to video. i guess not the case wiht th AG...

First, keep all your plants man, you need some females, plus the more the better, The figure 8 cord is just like an PS2 cable, has regular socket prongs, and on the other side it where you connect to the AG hood, i cut the old cord off, then connected the fig 8 to the Hood, which i hav connected to the side of my timer, then i plug the actual timer into and extension cord which has other sockets, for my other lights to plug into. Leave them in the AG, i have mad roots in mine, and there doin fine.

HEY OK IM BACK!

so i took all of your and other advice and i got the figure 8/ exteded the light, got a timer, mylar, built a bigger (light proof) space for the girls, and bought more lights and the 2700 cfl bulbs.

Question about lighting: I still have the bulbs from the AG goin and 1 bulb i used for flowering, i heard its ok to mix and match, did whoever mean in the flowering stage? should i use ONLY 2700?

should i spray my flowering plants? and if so, should i use seltzer for the bubbles?
and what watering setting should the AG be on? im asssuming mature growth...?

the indicator dosnt really matter, i keep mine on salad greens, it just controls the AG pump, i you can spray flowering plants, you will get mold on the buds, the males will show balls, and the girls will have lil tiny white hairs coming out of the stalk, they will show soon, give them some time

i was asking about the pump more i guess. the question is how long should it be running during the flowering...? 24 hours? 12? (when the lights are on)

haha srry, im high as hell, i said you CANT spray them, you WILL get mold, its only been 2 days man, give them some time haha, its takes at least 2 weeks to show, again, the pump dosnt really matter since you will have an air stone in the rez, i keep mine on 24/7 tho

well of all things, i think my pump is broken. it was on mature growth setting and the AG booklet says the pump should be running 24 hours and its not on.
i dont know how long its been broken becasue i thought it was running during the 12 hours it the light was off, so i havent heard/see the pump running.

WHAT SHOLD I DO?? how long can they go wiht out the pumping?

well i guess im gonna need another pump replacement. what should i get?
or are the roots stuck in something...? has this ever happened to anyone before?

thought it was running during the 12 hours it the light was off, so i havent heard/see the pump running in like 2 or 3 days......

the host says "if you have small plants"....... i can take them out of the pods in order to take out the tray to flip it .....

im in my 4th day of flowering and my roots are all over the place....is this worth it? can i water them manually and just make up for the lack with extra water pumps?

or is it worth it to take my plants out and keeping the roots in water (i just dont know cause some of them are kinda big) ...trying to take this thing apart possibly only finding out that ill have to order another pump..which then will take who knows how many days....
