Hey riu, this is my first post, and let me just start off by saying thank you so much! I have been browsing this site for hours a day for the last 8ish weeks, learning how I need to set my grow room and how to have a succesfull grow once it had gotten started, and I think I've gotten a pretty good understanding of everything! Okay, anyway, back to my post, let me explain my set up a little bit, tell me what you think and everything. I have a diy reflector that uses 12 cfl's. I currently have twelve 6500k 26W bulbs in there, its just over 5 feet long and a little over 1.5 feet wide.
This DIY reflector was based off of an idea that I got of a fellow riu-er. Thank u guys again =)
I also currently have the lights on a 24/7 schedule, I don't have a timer wich is why there not on an 18/6, but should I run out and go get one?
*in the pic I had a few 13w bulbs that I had just laying around in there to just test it out*
I do have one question on the lights, should I have a mixed spectrum in there? *mix of 6500k and 2500k lights?* I've read its not really needed for a smallish grow like this one, but what do you guys think?? Alright, next, my ventilation and fan system. I have a diy-ish exaust fan that I mad from a fan, a box, ducting, and a lot of tape lol. I basicly just put the box on the fan and taped it there, that way it is pulling all the air thru there. I can feel air being sucked in thru the ducting, but I'm sure on the cfm. I do plan on getting a can fan at some point, but this solution is working for now, I'm actuelly kinda surprised more people don't do it, I couldent find anything on it when I was searching, but it works decently. Another question, you guys think I should put the can fan higher up on my priority list? And how loud are those things??? I have a 6 inch passive intake on the bottom corner of the room, should I add more? I've heard it needs to be at least twice your exaust but my temps are staying okay so can I just leave it how it is?? I also have a humidfier in there, my humidity was on average around 14%, with the cool mist humidifier, my humidity is now on average around 45%. My temp. Before the humidifier was around 85F, it is now,on average about 80F. I also have a small fan blowing on the plants 24/7.
Oookay, next, my plants. They are currently 3 weeks old today, I have been taking pictures once a week and they are doing pretty good I think, I just wanted to see what you guys thought. I have three plants they all almost look identicle, so ill post up a pic on week 1, 2, and 3. Soil: I started with MG's seed starter, it worked pretty good. I just transplanted from the party cups to 3 quart pots using MG's moisture control. The leaves on 2 of my plants are starting to droop a bit, but I think I may have overwatered, due to the fact that I water twice in two days to get ready for the transplant, probly wasn't a good idea =/.
*week one*
*week two*
*week three*
The very bottom leaves on one of my plants is getting very dry and crubleing away. I think I read somewhere that these leaves fall off, is that right?? The rest of the leaves look real healthy, its just those one leaves.
Annnnddd, one more thing, these plants are just a couple of bagseeds I had laying around, I've been looking at the seedsmen WW, I think I'm going to get those, any opiniun on those babys?? And is there any way I can keep these ones growing when I order my seeds?? I want to practice cloning on these, that way I can have a better understanding when the good seeds get here. And if I can, flower, and harvest these babys. So just let me know what you guys think, comments, suggestions, etc. Would be very much apreciated. Thanks again riu for all your help! XD
