Hey guys! So obviously the two led bulbs I have aren't going to cut it ... so I'm in the process of learning as much as I can about diy cobs and efficiency! My question is how many watts is truly needed for a grow space of 19 inches by 23 inches ? I would like to keep the budget under 200 dollars ! What do you guys have in mind ? Also how much wattage is to much per square foot / optimal amount of watts ?

Watts is really a totally inappropriate metric for selecting LED lights. Go into the LED section and learn about lighting before you buy anything, save yourself a lot of regret

If you want to use bulbs.

Get some GE Brightstiks.

2 packs (6 per pack), 12 of these is good for your growspace.
Remove the plastic top, it diffuses the light but that isn't needed in a growspace where it only has to shine straight down. It also makes the light a little brighter.

Then get some sockets for those lights and it should be fine.

Alternatively, this will work really great and is 205 dollars.
