First time feeding - Outdoor!

Hey how's it going everybody?

First things first, I am growing one cannabis plant outside in a 5 gallon pot along with a couple tomato plants and a rainbow chard plant.
I have been watering with water from the hose that I've usually let sit for a day or so before using on all of the plants. They are individually potted and receive a good 5-8 hours of sunlight daily. I guess the first question is should I be checking the PH of the water I hydrate my plants with? Some of the tips of the leaves had been browning and curling down and I had looked into it and thought it might have been a lack of nitrogen. I'm using a layer of organic potting soil on top of a nice mound of Dr. Earth organic soil.
I also understand plants need food so I looked into some miracle grow from the local nursery and dosed my plant for the first time.
I used the recommended doseage in the recommended amount of water and watered all of my crops. The next day only my cannabis plant had browned a lot more to where a week later I had to trim all of the fan leaves off.
I think my plant is in the flowering stage .. but it is small. And since this plant was given to me to take care of when it was weeks maybe a month or two old already, I had no clue of its age and location in it's life cycle.

It looks healthy..
and the caterpillars thought so as well, because as I was pruning some of the browned leaves off the plant today, I found not one, but TWO caterpillars living on the stem and in the developing buds.
Also found what looked like spider mites, but after further investigation found them to be caterpillar droppings because they were green like plant matter being chewed (Unless when the spider mites are squished they are green).

Now that the plant seems clean and ready to do some new growing (because the new bud growth looks great!), I think it's time to feed again..
Also the stem could be thicker so I think we should be feeding once every week or two at least right?

A friend told me to use 1/4th of the recommended miracle grow dose so that was my next go too..
What do y'all think?

Also want to get into composting.. Any thoughts?

Thanks a lot

I did mine outside and I did NOTHING but water it........its about chop time and it looks great
Because of the rain I had to move the bucket into the garage and the whole thing smelled like a dead skunk in 5 minutes
Now IM SURE there will be plenty of people that say I did it all wrong but I have the proof to show that it worked-and it was my first time-outside 24 hrs a day but in the morning I would always put it in DIRECT sunlight as long as I could

good man, we are in a similar situation then!
Thanks a lot for you information.
How thick is your stem? I think I'll just stick to the watering.. maybe some compost.
How long from start to harvest if I may ask?

ALSO! did you PH your water? or was it straight out of the hose/tap?

. Pics?? Feed at 1/4 strength every 7 days alternating with water. water, feed, water, feed etc. And work your way up. Start with a 1/4 strength then 1/2 then 3/4. Until full strength. If burn occurs in tips of leaves back up on nuts. Also get yourself some epson salt from Walmart and molasses use them 1 spoon per gal. U can use those two every water and every feeding. Without problems. Post results!! Good luck!!

Went into the pot June 1-I will probably chop this weekend or next-gonna take the top heavy ones and the bottom and I have read that if I leave some in the middle I can put the mama plant under light 24 hrs and it will veg again and start all over. Cant hurt to try and I have seen proof it works. I used tap water BUT I let it sit for 24 hrs before I used it. I also liked to get as much rain water as I could for watering. Other than that, it was just a WEED that I watered and watched grow. Yes I think I got damn lucky, and I will stick with what worked for ME-might not work for everyone but for me it was good!
ABOUT 6 months from start to finish

What lights u have, spectrum, watts, distance. Smh. Thats ok that will help u get experience. For ur next grow. READ READ READ

It's an outdoor grow, but how is it revegging?
I'll look into it, but like I said the plant was given to me and I was trying to take care of it from that point.
Good experience for next grow though exactly!
Any tips on what I should do with it now?

Sprinkle diatomaceous earth liberally around the bases of the plants. A radius of about 18". That will stop most creepy crawlies, especially caterpillars. Shreds their bellies like knives.
