First time flowering-need help

Hey guys im getting ready to start flowering,how high should my 400w hps be from the top of my plants ? plant 1 @ 20", plant 2&3 @ 1foot thnks guys

The general "rule" is to put it as close as you can without burning them

I put mine from 2 to 3 foot away

I agree with pagen!! Put the lights as close as you can without burning them! Set the light where you think is close enough and then stick your hand (palm down) on the top of your plant and see how it feels!! If your hand doesnt get too hot then your plants should be ok!! Just remember to always keep a fan on them because this helps the heat factor out a ton!! GOOD LUCK

Put your hand at the highest plant top and if you could have your hand there for hours with no problem with the heat you light is good enough. If its to much heat raise it and try agian.
Just remember if its to much heat for you, it to much for them.
