First Time Gorwer, Planning On Setting Up Aerogarden

In a about a month I'll be starting my first grow ever and wanted to see if anyone has any advice for me. I'm a complete n00b when it comes to growing anything.
I've already spent a couple of hours reading and below is a list of what I'll be using.

Can anyone recommend what nutes I should use...Also, if anyone is in Australia and has suggestions about nutes it would be greatly appreciated as I'm not sure how I'd go in regards to ordering them over the net from other countries.

I also have another question, I have 2 options for areas to grow and I am unsure of which to use.
1 is to use our en suite bathroom which is good because it has an exhaust fan that I can leave running all the time to deal with the smell because we are renting and will eventually have a house inspection an the lingering smell will a dead give-away. However, the bathroom does get used by my wife and two little girls every day or two so on those days it'll get very very humid for about an hour max.

2 is to use our walk-in wardrobe which is about 2mx2m and is completely sealed, however the drawback is the smell. I'm not sure but I think that the smell will just cling to the carpet and be really hard to get rid of at short notice for house inspections.

Anyone able to help me choose which area to grow it in?

I sooooooooo can't wait to get started. The mrs gave me the go ahead last night and I'm now just chomping at the bit ready to get stuck in so I'm doing all the planning I can.

Batman1982: It sounds like you did your homework and you should have a fun time. I don't have a ppm meter, never had one but you'll surely get your use out of the pH meter. As far as nutes are concerned; I'd say stay away from A/G's. They're not designed for M/J. I've had very good luck with Technaflora's "Recipe for success."

With the little girls you might want to be stealthy. Humidity can also be a problem as there's a surprising amount of it with the A/G and that can cause mold in a confined area which you don't want. Also be careful in a place where there are extremes of temperature. Is there anywhere in the house that the kids don't go that has good air circulation? What about the chance of the landlord coming in to take a look around? How about a grow tent? If you've got the wife on your side half the battle is won and they make some real neat small ones. Enjoy.

Thanks for the info HSA. in regards to where I'll be growing, it looks like I'll be using our walk in wardrobe. I might just put down an extra layer of carpet so the smell doesn't get embeded in the base layer. In regards to airflow, I'll just leave the wardrobe door open with a fan blowing fresh air into the wardrobe until it starts to stink up the joint then I'll have to just give it as much air as possible whilst the mrs is at work during the day so I can de-stink the bedroom for the night.
Also, our property manager can't just swing by whenever they want to do an inspection. They have to give us a months notice or they'll be breaking the tenancy act and face massive fines

I this grow goes well then next time I reckon that I could probably twist the mrs arm so she let's me get a ozone generator to deal with the smell.

As for the nutes, so far in online Australian stores out of the recommended brands from the ag grow guide thread I can find Canna but it's an A&B set of nutes and I'd preferably like to get a three part system so I can fine tune the nutes. I'm thinking about trying to order FoxFarm nutes from eBay and just hoping that they are prohibited by customs.

Forget the Fox Farm nutes and go with the General Hydroponics line(use there charts online for your app.). Also get a air pump and air stone for the Aerogarden you will need it.

Any specific General Hydro nutes you'd reccommend?

nm, from doing my initial googling on my phone I thought that they had a massive selection of liquid nutes available. I've just done some more proper research on my pc and after actually going to they're site I've found exactly what I want. Thanks for the info gom.

no offence to every1 else but we dont have a lot of the brands you guys talk about in aus
im only on my first grow man so cant personally recommend any
as for smell you could buy or build a carbon scrubber that goes in the room

I use Canna nutes. Rated best for taste. So I'm told. Check out my pictures. All with the Canna brand. I cant speak for anything else.

Thanks for pointing that out, your probably right. I am going to have a look in the local Mitre10 and see what Wattage 5000k cfl lamps they have because can't really find that many 5000k cfl lamps on ebay and I really don't want to have to mess around with 2 different light spectrums.

Thanks for the rep. And I've now subscribed to the Aussie growers thread. Some interesting stuff on there. However, for this grow I'm going to go with General Hydroponics, I found an Australian seller on eBay so I'm going to buy from there
Ooh and I'm going to hit my brother up for a carbon scrubber for Xmas. He's a massive pothead aswell so I reckon I can twist his arm to spring for it.

Dude, seriously, I can read the stickies. I'm not blind and I already read that guide. I just decided that it's still nice to get more than one single persons perspective

If you look at the GH web page you will find the chart that fits your grow(dirt, hydro, what ever). Then just get what it tells you to use. When it tells you to use it and your good to go. You can get the stuff online(ebay, amazon, what ever you like).
