First time grow, wondering if i should flower

Hey there, first time posting here...so getting right to it.

All of them are Northern Lights, full fem grow, which is actually by luck because I did not buy them fem. Been under 100W CFL natural light bulbs, had a few problems with nute burns early on (misdiagnosed lack of nitrogen for too much nitrogen). They cannot grow much higher than they are right now, so should I induce 12/12 now? Thanks for any feedback, all the advice I read on this site helped me get started, big thanks to everyone in the newbie forum.

Using CFLs the whole way, no room/budget for anything else. Is that a problem? I read they work the whole way, while not being ideal they do work if you get the right spectrum (not soft white)

you can use them no doubt. But the more light the better. Those are big plants and will need a LOT of light! How many lights do you have, and ow many watts and what color spectrum?

If you dont have enough light you will have small airy and not dense buds. My 1st grow was 26 plants with a 600 watt Hps that is 90,000 lumens. It wasnt enough by far!!!

They are 100W Natural Light CFL's (mimics natural light), have 8 lights total, have 2 lights on each of the 4 plants except the wee one in the back which has no direct light (just don't have any available). I try to angle the lights to hit the most of the plant possible, keeping the bulbs 4-5 inches away from the plants themselves.

well the plant itself will not get taller than that, it's northern lights #5 so it should stay very small. each plant gets roughly 3600 lumens each (1750 per light) so while it's not ideal it's the best I can put together. so do you think it's time to flower? each plant has shown to be female so far

I am sorry I was taking about light and not the question. I think they are ready to flower now. You can put the lights as close as not to burn them. The 100 watt cfl's actually do produce some heat.

**edit** are they 100 watt cfl or equivalent to a 100 watt bulb? !00 watt cfl is about 7500 lumens each if I remember right?

Flowering is totaly up to the grower. If no one has told you before that Flowering can be induced at all most any time in veg with 12/12 light cycle. what you might not know is the tempter of the dark cycle is key for resin production and also color change (if there will be any) I started flowering a Maui wowie and (a Paonia purple paralyzer I got from a relly old hippy) on the first of the year. I just set it to 12/12 light 75-78 temp day cycle and 58-64 night cycle
