First time grow

Hey guys, I'm planning on attempting to grow for the first time, Indoor in a medium sized room,

I was wondering if anyone could recommend,

What soil should be used,
What lighting,
What Ventilation,
And what utensils are vital, E.G PH Tester.

Also any other advice which could help my future outcome would be greatly appreciated, Also im from australia, So that may limit some ideas.

It's all here @ RIU. So all you need to do is read on. Most of it is in the stickys.

Good potting soil, MH or HPS lights, yes to venting, temp/humid.

Why would being in australia limit ideas?

any soil without added fert is good

for light id reccomend a HID lamp

ventilation is needed to control temps, and to ensure your plants are always getting an exchange of air. find out your temps between the tops of your plants at the light. and provide dimensions for the room for ventilation help.

Utensils ...

- Veg/Bloom Fertilizer
- soil pH probe
- Water ph test strips
- ph Up/ down
- ventilation equiptment (if its a large room regular house fans would probably work fine)

thats pretty much it.

I gave you pretty simple, basic answers.
