First time grow

I have my plant under a 18 watt normal fluorescent light bulb. I planted the seed without germination in some soil from the garden out side. The light is about 2-3 inches above soil and I put tinfoil around to makeshift my own fixture. i understand that i wont be able to grow a full adult plant on this light, but will it work for the sprouting stage? *ANY extra tips will be much appreciated thank you.*

Seeds do not need any light for germinating/'sprouting'. However, once it pops, it will need proper light, or it will just stretch like crazy. Grab a couple 43w 6500k bulbs and a Y-splitter (at *least* two to start with, you'll need more as it grows).
