First Time Grow

Hey all, Total noob here. This will be my first attempt at growing. My wife is the main smoker, and I'm tired of paying for an ounce a month LOL

My question is, what would be the best and most efficient way to grow 1-2 ozs a month.

My space is limited to about 4x4, and my budget is about 500.00


Also, I live in Colorado, so no need for stealth

I bought some PVC pipe to make my 5x5x6 room it cost $36 for just the frame. CFLs are good if youre on a budget. I have a 400W HPS for my 4 autos cost about $250.

You won't be able to get a steady harvest of 1-2 oz per month on your budget and space availability. But not too hard to get a 3 oz average starting out with 4 plants. So reasonable to target a 12 oz. harvest in about 4.5 months. Easy to have oopsies when you first start so your mileage may vary.

I would get Mylar and do what boognish is sayin but I would get a 600 and grow a couple autos and then some photos if you do your homework you can deff meet your expectations.

In a 4x4 tent you can definitely fit 2-4 plants with walking room still available. I'm no expert and currently on my first grow myself but I'd say you probably have plenty of room for seedlings and clones.

Just be careful of your clone count if you want to stay legal. Maybe not an issue but I'm so tired of growing illegally that I keep my plant count low.

It's my wife and I, so we can have 12 plants, 6 each. 3 each vegging, 3 each flowering

^ This is what I would recommend, but might stretch that budget out a hair. Try to not be super cheap when you make a decision on your tent. You truly get what you pay for concerning them. I have a pair of Secret Jardin DR120's that I adore, and a few offbrand tents I fucking despise. You are also going to need environmental controls as well. A nice fan to cool a hood or tube off and some ducting. I would suggest a carbon filter as well unless you want your house smelling like the permanent residence of a skunk. Even with it being legal the smell gets annoying really fast. On the bright side with better equipment you can produce more and make your money back in a 6 month period.

Since you have never grown before I would suggest hitting up all the sticky postings you can find and READ your ass off. Read everything you can and then READ IT AGAIN. I learned everything I know about this by lurking on this site and absorbing all the information I could get. Best of luck to you and your wife.

Thanks, I was looking at that DR120 actually. I can go over 500 if need be. I just started with that number, because I wasn't sure what I am looking for.
