First Time Grower / Stealth / 60 DAY WONDER AUTO

Hey,

New on here and new to growing, complete beginner so looking for as much help as possible, done around a month of research into this and tried to grow some easyryder but 2 seeds didn't germ because I messed up and one died after sprouting.

Me and my friend are looking to grow on a budget, money is tight and its stealth so I decided to go with CFL, not looking to go to HPS or anything yet.

We are growing DNA 60 Day Wonder FEM, 1 Plant, the grow box is 54cm X 30cm, using soil, and at the moment we are using a 18W daylight CFL (1100 lumen, I think) Says 100W output on box. I also have another warm white light that is also 18W (100W output) ready for when the plants a little bigger.

The soil is just from a grow bag from Walmart. Not sure on what it exactly has in it.

We are going to leave the lights on 24/7 through out the whole grow. Hopefully this will speed it up right?

We are only growing one seed at the moment because I still consider this trial and error practise, I messed up the last lot so we don't wanna waste that money again. I just want the plant to grow and produce some smoke-able bud doesnt matter how much it yields (as long as its over say 7g).

I put the seed in a shot glass of mineral water over night, it had sank to the bottom so I put it in a peat cup full of soil this afternoon around 1pm. (which I watered last night / figured let it be all ready and moist for when I planted the seed.)

Iv attached some pictures of my box for you all to see, any tips would be great. I put the peat cup on top of some DVD cases and books to get it closer to the light, because:
1. I cant move light any lower
2. I also thought that as the plant gets bigger I can just pull out the books and cases to give more space between plant and light.

Also put some plastic tupperware on top of the cup to keep moisture in till the seed has sprouted.

Bud, that light ain't gonna do much.

If you want to use CFL's in that space, and one.... You'll need to get a 42W CFL. (18W will not be enough).
Being that you are on a tight budget, 24/7 will be ok (I'd suggest otherwise; which would require a timer.. $$ )

The Foil that you have up will bring on more problems then it would be good. I'd get rid of it.
paint the cardboard BOX white; that would work better.

Yes, you can use any means to get the light closer to the Plant; that can include moving the plant up rather then move the lights down.

You better use Distilled water from the store in this case, as I expect you will not have a PH meter; thus you will have problems if your using tap water.

There will be costs associated with your grow that you are not accounting for.. Take that into consideration as you move forward.
Example: What Nutrients are you planning on using? *What's the brand of Soil you picked up? Does it have food in it; similar to Miracle Grow?*

I forgot to mention that I have some Miracle Gro all purpose plant food mixed really weakly with mineral water ready to go, just not going to use it at all yet.

The brand of soil is Walmarts own grow bag,
Iv not got distilled water, I have mineral water heard that its good so I went to the shop and got some of that not, using tap water at all.

Oh and Iv got a timer too from my easyryder just don't really need to use it this time around.

Could you explain why the tin foil will do more worse than good? Just wondering that's all, I used the dull side and it reflects the light, but I will take down and paint white. Ill do this when I get home from work later on tonight hopefully have it done before it sprouts.

Dont know if it makes a difference either but its a wooden box not a cardboard one.

Check me out. I am growing this same strain in Hydro. I would like to help you help me as I am new

https://www.rollitup.org/blogs/250932-williac76.html

Strain: DNA GEN 60 DAY Wonder (near 4 weeks old)
Medium: Deep Water Culture
DR60 TENT OPERATION
Lights: 18/6 - ONLY DO 24/0 WHEN SEEDLING AND MILD GROWTH (2 1/2 WEEKS AFTER FLOWER SPROUT)
- full 24 may give you one big ass bush with no buds on this strain. I saw it.

Picture: Indicates she is Female: An FYI when you look at your in 3 weeks.

Advice for you: Skip that PC/Small box grow and get a DR60 Tent. Got mines on Clist for 65 dollars and its less stress having room. Air and heat get tight in smaller spaces and will stress you like your plant

Just Remember DNA 60 DAY likes to SLEEP at least on a 22/2 schedule if not anything else. Remember there is some kind of night almost everywhere. Don't pimp her out 24 hours a day bud or she won't spread those wings (FLOWERS AND BUDS. Unless you have grown this strain and know her follow what I am saying

ok, so ill change my light cycle in a week from 24/0 to 20/4, I want the best light available to my babies. I know atm 18W is enough from seed to sprout but ill change it soon, payday next week and ill get some or one depending on shipping and other factors.

Seed has not sprouted yet btw (its 4.00 am / planted at 1pm today so, 15 hours ago).

Temp is 85F, have a 6 inch fan waiting, maybe a little big but its all I got for now, still have dome on top of peat cup, when its sprouted do you reckon i should fan the air around it? or is this not important yet.

Air Circulation Builds a strong stem. I hear she likes wind to build that. Mines are strong I just made sure I did notblow directly on her. To get seeds to sprout I got a small strip heating matt. Put under rockwool cube tray with little light just from the kitchen and they sprouted in a day and a half.

Remember you can keep under 24 until she is a little past seedling stage then switch her up.

Fans I have a clip on and Another one up top by my light. Going to get an intake/Outake fan from Home Depot in which the DR60 can fit up top to draw more heat out. Keeping it open during the day hours helps for now when temps get high. Tent is Five feet tall. I love it.

Just cos i believe nature will take its course, at the end of the day this plant went for thousands of years without being germed in towels. I heard also about accidentally ripping roots when transferring and didn't wanna risk it.

Its day 2 and its still not sprouted through the soil, pic will follow when it does, the peat cup is still very moist and heavy from the watering (before i put seed in) 2 nights ago. so no need to water it yet I think.

help help!! Arrg tonight when I was getting stoned with my mates i waited till everyone was outta the room to check my thing but I only had limited time so in my rush I knocked the plant from the top to the bottom and soil spilt and a little of the root was exposed. It sprouted sometime today and it looked proper healthy better than last time.

Have i killed the plant by knocking it over or does anyone reckon it will survive?hj

BUMP!

Update: Day 3, The plant has sprouted very fast, she looks very healthy at the moment, since dropping her last night I thought I would wake up to find her on her side dead but shes still standing tall and actually straighter.

The seedling is 2cm tall.

here as some updated pics for you all tell me what you think. In the last pic you can get a grasp of how far the plant fell and how much soil spilt.SN201107.JPGSN201110.JPGSN201111.JPGSN201109.JPG

So the sprout survived, shes growing healthily and fast about a 1cm everyday, moved the peat cup into a bigger pot now as she stretched an fell on her side.

I added a fan and extra 23w CFL Warm white to the box. Ill upload some new pics in the morning.

uploaded some photos for you to see,

shes starting to get bigger and I can see the others starting to grow out.

Just wondering how much should I water at this stage, I did a light misting about 20 mins ago when I say light I mean that the top of the soil wasnt even damp. The actual top soil is bone dry but about an inch down its a little moist but not really that much.

Should I do a proper water into the soil soon, just need some tips because I dont want to over-water her and I want the roots to stretch out a little but I don't want her to die from lack of water either.

I also have some of that really weakly mixed all purpose miracle grow plant food in another spray bottle just wondering when I should start using a little bit of that?

Thanks and I hope at least someone responds this time.

Ok Yellowing leaves

What are you using for a soil mix? Add Egg Shells and a light Fan to stengthen stem.

Yellow leaves seem to be over watering, heat, or if your using soil nutes.. too much. You should be able to get it from there.
