First time topping, did I mess it up?

No permanent damage as seen. Personally pinch the very center growth tip off earlier in life. 4 th node most times. As soon as I can see it clearly.

hey man, would u mind helping me with one more issue? I think I have some sort of deficiency in 3 out of 4 of my plants. I’m somewhat of a novice and can’t really figure out what it is

Stem looks larger than it would be if topped when the 4th node starts to grow. Did you not have growth and cut the stem? I meant I pinch the tip off as soon as it shows. Not after it has grown. Both are effective.

oh shit, maybe I’m confused about what topping “at X node” means. My plant currently has four sets of true leaves, then when the fifth leaf set started growing out, i snipped it off. Does that mean I topped at the 5th node?

Looked for a good pic. All I got. 4 th node. Ready for topping. the very center growth between the new tips, 3 should there. 1 is the actual growth tip, in the center. 2 are new branches. Does this help. Pictures are better. I have none on topping. Or the how to.

You can butcher photos to an extent. If she is healthy it should be okay. I'm a maniac with defol and topping. Never an issue. Just more time till enjoyment.

Here are some pics of what’s going on with a few of my plants. Not sure what it is. The first two pics are the same plant. The third pic is a different plant, it seems to have similar symptoms as the other plant, but that spots have more of a golden/tan color to them, and they are a little shiny. Whatever it is, it seems to be progressing fairly slowly.

I'm an organic soil guy. But looks like some deficiency. My suggestion would a foliar spray of fish emulsion. Possibly some epsoms salt in it. Get your nutes in the plant situated until you can correct your water or nute blend.

So probably some sort of cal or mag deficiency? I’ll try giving it a foliar spray with some CalMag and see if that stops the spreading.

Fish emulsion is broader spectrum. Also contains trace elements beneficial to actual metabolism of the minerals. Hydro and wet sets tend to over look that their purity is removing things science has yet to understand. Why I'm back to dirt. Nature already made it work. We really can't beat her.
