First try need help.

Ok i Put 5 bagseeds in a wet papertowl then put a little bit of water in the cup so it doesnt go dry (dont use a light for them not sure if i should) and now on the 2ndnight i got 2 seeds that are starting to grow, should i wait a few more days before i plant in a potting cup or plant right away and do i put the sprout side up or down.Heres 2 crappy pics of it but im sure you all know what it looks like for the 1st night ( sorry camera doesnt have macro and when you zoom in its really blurry)






And before i saw this site i heard people talking about using blacklights but never saw anyone on here say about them, do you guys not use them?


When i put it in the potting pot ill be using potting soil usd for gardening seeds and 2 18" 15watt bulbs (only extra bulbs i have and i use them for my fishtanks) and ill be putting itabout 1-2" away from the pot?


Sorry guys First grow, dont know much of the vocab, i looked threw it but thats a lot to learn in a little bit. And plant will be going outside after i can tell the sex.

No Blacklights for POT!

Cant see the pics, I mean there there, there just ridiculous big, and really make no sense to my eyes of what they even are...

Those lights wont be enough for the growth of the plant after about 20 days.

btw, why do you want to stick to those blacklights? if u want to use alternative growing, then try LEDs.

you should read the growfaq its full of usefull stuff you should know. and as suggested stay away from black lights. get some CFLs if you wanna go cheap. the daylight 6500k spectrum ones are great for veg.

Yea sorry guys i know the pics are big and blurry bit tried to give an idea but the lights i thought about using are 2 18" F15's 15watts (not blacklights) but i can use my one other light only 24" 20watts tho so not to much of a difference, Im going to go down to my buddys house later and see if he has a light i can use other than these fishtank lights. ill post back later.

from the looks of the pic it looks like your starting to get a tail. You can just wait till the end of the day and plant them and make sure the tap root is facing down when you plant it and def def get your self some CFLs or something cause those puny lights will just get you puny plants and then puny buds and thats just a waste of a grow

I just went upstairs and found a light, Its only 40watts tho.

plant the seeds in cups with good soil or Jiffy Peat Pellets and moisten the soil. Keep the soil moist and they will sprout. Moist, not wet. Plant the seed 1/3 a pinky finger deep.

While you wait go and get the highest wattage CFLs you can, thats the next step, you need more light, in a high kelvin range 5000+. You will need more light if you go the CFL rout, it wont hurt. If you want to veg a healthy plant to put outside it needs more light. You can light your house with them after you get him outside

is that just a normal house bulb? cause if it is its even worse then those plant bulbs you got. you need to go to walmart and buy a pack of 5 of CFLs (daylight 6500K)

yea id suggest goin out and grabbin 2 or 4 27w cf's and surrounding that baby with them.

ill only be growing 2

just to give you an idea on my previous grows and CFLs

1st plant: 43 watts of CFLs got a little over an eigth
2nd plant 167 watts of CFLs got a little over oz

more light = more bud

you can add this light, but it sucks. better use 40w CFL.

Idk how i never thought about it but i have a green house outside in my backyard. could i just plant the seed tonight n put them out there untill they start growing then plant them outside somewhere?

Dude if you have a greenhouse, grow a forest in it...

Haha cant, it's a glass one not one of the plastic ones. I wish!

You still could, just on the inside walls put up some of the plastic paneling that lets light through but you cant see into.
