Fllod and drain bubbler

Ok I wanted to see if this would be a good idea.
I want to build a flood and drain bubbler. So it would flood to refill the bubblie nutrient.

I was thinking of having rubbermaid tupperware container to house the plants then drill holes for a fill and return line 2 or 3in above on each side. The fill and drain would be on a timer.
The 2 or 3in would keep a small res for the air bubblers.

Just wanted some options

I think what you have in mind would work. The only question that comes to my mind is "Why?" Basically you have made an overly complex bubbler or a flood and drain system with airstones that doesn't drain completely. Or so it seems to me. What is your reasoning for attempting to hybridize DWC and flood and drain? Why do you think that this system would be better than just plain old DWC or flood/drain? I'm not trying to shoot you down or anything, I'm genuinely interested in your reasoning.

Well I did some research and was lookng at other dwc systems .Some have airstones on the bottom and a internal pump with irrigation lines to each plant site.
So while the air stones bubble the bottom the flood would water thr upper part of the rootzone then drain while refreshing the nutrients in the bubbler. Im worried about over watering cause im flooding draining now and overwatering was a issue for a few days.
