Floramite and Avid

What order do you recommend using these in? Been fighting mites for years and i'm like 3 weeks from flower so i'm curious which way i should use them. Do i use floramite then avid or vise versa? Any help would be appreciated.
 
Have you already been using either of those? Supposedly the mites can build up a resistance so product rotation is recommended. I prefer avid over floramite because it is a translaminar miticide, meaning it saturates the whole leaf rather than just the surface. Kontos is a newer product that is good to use as a preventative before going into flower. Alternating with neem oil spraying works great also, always make sure to get the bottoms of the leaves thoroughly.

Are you taking in new clones, do you have any garden plants outside your grow space that are harboring spider mites? All the miticides wont work if you arent able stop them from being reintroduced into your garden.
 
If you've been using them grab forbid 4h spray once with that then once with avid 5 days later. They'll nuke em

Never used them before i've been rotating Monterey Knock out (pyrethrin) Azamax Doctor zyme and Monterey insect spray (spinosad) can't seem to completely knock them out but i've kept them at manageable levels. I really just want them gone

I always do my own clones i'm really not sure what happened here this summer i think some eggs or something must have gotten on my clothes when i was sittin on my porch because i don't wear my shoes in my grow and have never gotten them in the 5 years i've been growing
 
You really need a regular spray regimen that has a preventative dose of organic pesticide, like Safer Soap.

The bottom line with Forbid or Avid is that those are straight fuckin nasty chems that cause serious problems in humans so why the fuck would you spray them on your plants, knowing you're going to smoke them?

I was just saying something to this affect about eagle 20.
 
I'm not above resorting to nasty chemicals IF I know for sure they'll be out of the picture as I'm spinning one up. I have Kontos, Avid , forbid and floramite but until I see a sign of pests those will handle I'll stick to less toxic non-systemics, And IF I choose to use those it will be very very early so there is little chance of residual. Preventative spraying is as easy as rosemary oil ( I prefer purespray green, nothing but petroleum oil), anything that suffocates is good as long as the device you use for spraying it covers well.

These plants are 3 weeks from flower so it will be about 3 months at least before i take them out. I already do preventative spraying but i still managed to get them so i'm trying to exterminate them

Pest are a motherfucker and lifes short anyway, more power to you brother. eradicate those fuckers.

Thanks man yea i'm tired of losing sleep over these things. I have spent alot of hours inspecting my plants taking off infected leaves and spraying every 3 days with different stuff i want to just erradicate them. Do you know which order i spray them in (floramite/avid) and if i need to use an emulsifier?

Haven't used them much but keep small bottles around. Some of these other guys will surely have some advice. Good luck. Although you probably won't need much luck with the chems you're using.
 
Sprayed today we will see if the residuals show up when i get this stuff tested at the end of the cycle (11 weeks or so i'll bookmark the thread)

A Canadian poster put this up about two weeks ago.

Mix. 30ml of "3% H2O2-Hydrogen Peroxide" per 1L of tap water ("3% Peroxide can be bought at a Pharmacy or buy you can buy "35% Hydrogen Peroxide" from a Hydroponics Store, BUT the application changes to 2-3ml/L), 20ml/L of 99% Rubbing Alcohol (Pharmacy for $4) and a 5 ml of regular liquid dish soap (basic dish soap, NOT anti-bacterial). Mix and spray EVERYTHING. This formula kills mites and should be repeated within 3 days. Best time to spray is when they are about to go to sleep (i.e. turn off the lights).

You can get 32 oz of hydrogen peroxide from Wal Mart for 0.88 cents, 70% to 90/91% alcohol in 32 oz from $1.38 to $2.18 and Dawn or other dish soap (not anti bacterial) for maybe $1.49.

Spray under those leaves and shake up sprayer bottle or 1 gallon sprayer jug while spraying. Get undersides then drench the plant.

I used it in flower and only had 50% ISO rubbing alcohol and it f'ed the mites up. Seemed to kill all the eggs to. Alcohol evaporates quickly but will dry these little bastards out.

I let it sit for about 6 to 7 hours then rinsed with water using a 1 gallon sprayer. giving the plants time to dry before the lights came back on. Worked for me and the plants looked great a day later.
 
fuck mites. they are such a pain in the ass! Right when you think you have them under control you see a new leaf with the dreaded white spots... I'm gonna try this method colo. Thanks for sharing.

Ha - I like your friend lurking in the avatar pic. One tip though is pets in the grow can bring in mites. Another one I want to try is hydrogen peroxide and a little Neem oil. I might add a tiny tiny bit of Dawn or dish soap to get it to really foam.

Supposedly lemon Dawn is best. I am not sure if it has lemon in it. I have a blue Dawn and also green. Just not anti bctyerial dish soap. The dish soap, alcohol and hydrogen peroxide worked for me. Hat tip to a Canadian poster here who shared that link for soap,peroxide and alcohol. 70 to 90/91% alcohol even if diluted will dry those bugs out.

I also like to water with SNS 209 which has rosemary oil. After about 5 waterings/5 days it is in the plant and the mites bite down and hate it. They starve or leave. It is about $22 bucks but it makes 60 gallons.

Make sure to spray under the leaves well and then drench the plants with high power lights off.. After you drench them - your plants may look like a drowned rat. Don't worry.

I usually let it six for 7 hours then rinse with water and give them time before lights come back on. The mixture is so cheap that doing it every 3 or 4 days is a bargain. I nuked em in the first spray
