Can you take a piece of budd of your plant to test it. Without hurting the plant. Want to see if this is the high i want or do i need to let them mature more.

Clipping a bud will not hurt but not a way to determine a proper dry

Clipping one really small bud a week will give you insight into why you don't want to chop early. You can taste and feel the difference week to week.

Problem with this method is you have to quick dry it to test it. With that being said you will not get the same high because the reason people do such a long cure is because the thc gets stronger with a good cure.
You will get high yes but it wont tell you anything you need to know.
However yes you can take a small bud without hurting anything.
