flowering day 21: 5 foot tall under 1000watt HPS

im almost out of space, i should have flowered sooner cus now the light mostly just reaches the tops. ive been tying them down, but i think theyre almost done stretching. there's 4 of them, each in 7gal pots w/ foxfam ocean forest + light warrior. i overvegged them to the point where they became giant healthy monsters, fdd i hope you're proud - i really didnt intend for them to be this large.

nutes: pure blend pro (bloom), liquid karma, unsulphered organic molasses and i just bought diamond nectar, the fulvic acid helps uptake of nutes. i also bought kool blooms, which is chemmy and im usually an organic type of guy - but these are all the same nutes my friend used for his massive grows which yielded some of the best herb ive ever had. its all about what works for you.

they were veg'd under a 1000watt MH then i finally got a switchable ballast and switched to 1000watt HPS right on day 1 of flowering. currently, theyre each around 5 foot 5 inches tall. oh, and the strain is power plant & they are clones.

yeah they should stop growing vertically after about 21 days of flowering.. BUT now they are going to start getting HEAVY and drooping.. You should start staking and tying branches NOW..

heres wide view pics, you can see my clones under a t12 lamp. also, i took the advice of ppl here and lolipopped it before flowering - i cut off all the bottom branches so all the energy goes upward to the colas.

the plant to the far right in the 1st and 3rd pics is a mom, hence why theres no bud forming cus its in veg.

wow they are beautiful, how much farther up can you move the lights? Wow it is rather tight in their what are you trying to decide?

i cant move the light up anymore without raising my shower curtain, so im gonna focus on cooling the light w/ fans. i trimmed alot of the branches right before flowering, then a whole bunch more 4 days in. thanks for the kind words! i hope to net around 2oz per plant, maybe more!

thats a great goal to have im starting more conservative but im just starting, plants look nice overall so you top then cut bottom brances as it starts to flower?

did you grow those mushrooms?

yea i topped it throughout veg and then i topped it like crazy before flowering, thats prolly why theres 50+ tops. but yea the bottom branches produce small buds, they drain the energy that could have been used on upper cola growth.

the plants are VERY hungry, tommorow is nute-day of the week. i just wanted to take pics cus they look so sexy, but i really wanted to wait a few days - but ill post pics after nuting too.

and yes, i grew the shrooms in my avatar. infact now that you reminded me, i have to go fan a chamber full of mycelium cakes!

i didnt trim any branches really on my first grow with 3 white widows. looked like yours but with bottom branches. 1200 watts. i got 3 1/2 ounces per plant. dont pick early. let them go longer u wont regret it.

yea im definately not picking anything early. that would be sick to get 3.5oz/plant, this power plant is a 55 day strain but ill let it go 60 days since theyre so big.

i went 60 days on my 55 day ww and my trichs were 75% clear milky/25% amber(hydroponics also). i wish i would have went a little longer to add a little more density. just my 2 cents. just get a microscope and check ur trichs. every phenotype is different. u just gotta pick it when its ripe, like any fruit/vegetable. im in the scrog now with 12 plants. im hoping for 4 oz per plant at least. i vegged for 6 weeks. if my plants werent in the screen they would be 2 1/2-3 feet tall and i just started flowering 2 days ago. hopefully the veg time will pay offf.

wow the shrooms are amazing makin me drrrrrrrrrrrrrroolllllllllll I tied all my bottom shit down and they are lookin fat but i didnt top much either so we shall see

nice, i would do scrog too but i have to constantly move my plants to their dark cycle room and also draining would be an issue. 4oz/plant is well worth the trouble though.

ill def get a microscope, but thankfully these are all the same pheno since theyre clones. plus, powerplant is a landrace strain so it only has 1 pheno. when you take clones off clones off clones off clones though, the genetics changes a little bit - ive seen a few strains change over years of cloning & changing moms.

kaya - here are a few shroom pics from back in the day, i still grow them i just dont take pics cus its been years since i started. i guess these pics belong in the shroom section, but i guess noone will be mad if its just a small reference

is it okay to foliar feed at day 21? i know theres alot of contraversy surrounding the idea of misting huge buds - but mine arent huge yet, so i think ill do it.

looking good hope you get many oz'es. carnt you black out the grow room, so you dont have to move them, for the dark period. then you could maybe do a scrog, and get more lite to the buds.
