Flowering help!

How long can i trim my plant for? Im currently 3weeks in to Flower,12 Uk cheese under 2 600hps, soil. Plants lower half looks to bushy still.
Topped a few 2wks ago they aint lookin too great. ive heard sum plants dont like being topped,any body know any thing plz advise.. thnx :joint:
 
it is true some strains dont like being topped.....its allways better to leave your leafs on for as long as possible... i dont trim mine at all untill the last week or 2 before harvest then i do a trim the leafs suck in a lot of nutes for the plant so thats why i leave mine on for so long unless they die.. but i cam currently 3 weeks into flowering and not one leaf has died yet all still very very green
 
People tend to think that cutting fan leaves will let light through but fan leaves are actually absorbing light for the plant, turn the plants, tie the leaves down, do what ever you can but dont cut the fan leaves yet.

heres the chedda.. As you can see the biggest ones are the ones that didnt get topped.I wish i left them alone..
