Flowering Scrog Grow & Pesticide

I am currently growing Scrog style, 6 purple kush plants outdoor. They are in their second week of flowering and I am worried about the possibility of a pest infestation. I was using Azatrol brand pesticide by means of a trigger sprayer, but was recommened to discontinue use once the flowering process has began. Should I remain not using pesticides to keep pests away or is it still ok to use pesticides? ..Would feeding my plants the Azatrol be a better alternative as compared to spraying? I fed them Azatrol twice the very beginning days of flowering already.
