Flowering season? East coast growers

This is just a general quick question. So id first like to.start off by saying that im growing in the east coast in the carolinas. I was just.curious around when the flowering season begins.
Ive also heard alot of local growers say to harvest when the first frost comes. I know as well as anyone theres plenty of information out there but not all off its good information. So im asking yall these two questions to try to figure out whats the real answers. Thank you for your.time and help

flowering will start around mid august, and i dnt beleive u have to harvest when it frosts, bc i let my plants go past frost last year with no issue, now im sure some some strains are more sensative to cold, but imo generally outdoor plants can survive a frost or 2, its a hard freeze, 28 degrees F or below u rele have to worry about

I harvested late october,And for the frost I just threw news papers over the tops (Only when I knew it would Be VERYYY Cold)
