Flowering stage and when to harvest.

I've just read up on something, I'm just curious. Is this true, or is this just bs?

"The cut off time to harvest is when your trics are amber and your buds are no longer growing.

I would forget about what the seed companies say about flowering time. I think seed companies overestimate the time a plant finishes. I just harvested some Vanilla Kush. The seed company said 7 to 8 weeks for flower. I ended up going 16 weeks. All my plants had beautiful foxtails. I ended up with a little over a pound of potent bud. If I would have harvested prefoxtail at 7 to 8 weeks. I would have ended up with about half the harvest and a less potent bud.

Good rule is add 2 weeks of flower time to what breaders and seed banks say. Harvest onces all hairs are orange or brown, all teichs are cloudy and about 10-20% amber depending on how you like your effects. More amber the more stoney or couch lock, more cloudy and less amber more of a body high and uplifting.

Yeah 16 weeks is like wow! Most for me seem to finish up in 8 to 10 full weeks. Had one strain that went to 12 weeks before i said fuck it and cut them down.
