Flowering with CFLs

I'm vegging with 6x 6500k 26w cfls and a 42 watter cfl. I can't afford more lights.
Would I be able to flower with the same lights??

I dont think so mate. You will need 2700k's for flowering. Unless your growing autos.

they have packages of them at diff home improvement stores, i think home depot has best deal, 4-5 bulbs for like 7-8 usd.. if you just switch out your spirals you can keep one or two 6500 bulbs going also, i ahve 2 5k going in a 4'x8' tent and the rest are 2700-3000.

I thought i read that 2700k was "ideal" but not manditory right? It's a plant, that needs light, it's the amount of that light that dictates flowering. 12/12 regardless of kelvin, should produce flower. yeild might be negatively affected.

of course you can.its just not ideal w/all6500k. But you can flower w/those bulbs.it will affect your yeild.

The 2700k are easier to find in bulk than the 6500k. You can get a package of five or six 26watters for 10 or 11 dollars at Walmart, Sams or Target. And you can keep a 6500 or two in the mix. Certainly, you can get that kind of money in a couple of weeks.

yeah those 6500k lights can still be used in flowering but not as much as 2700k. As people have said. the sun has all spectrums of light and while the emphasis of certain spetrums do change when the axis of the earth shifts it is still all of the spectrums. That being said indoor is different. And your gonna want at least a 3:1 ratio of 2500k to 6500k bulbs in flowering for the plant to effeciently develop flowers and cannabanoids. so go out there and get as many as you can fit

really i usually grow with hps but its curently at my buddies. i been using 6500k also to veg.. so ur saying for flower u neeed s lower spectrum?? whats the best 2500-3500?????

They have TONS of options, take a look around, just watch for the base type. The above linked bulb is a medium base, which is the standard bulb base. Some bulble require a mogul base, which is a bit larger. Mogul cords and bases run about $10
Oh yeah, make sure you watch the lumens output, they have many different manufacturers and sometimes the lumens vary even on a bulb of the same wattage. Obviously you want the most lumens
