I wish I could take a single puff of something that was not flushed properly. I am sure I have smoked such but just can not recall or didnt know why it tasted poorly.

I am assuming it has a bad taste or after taste. I believe I also read about headaches. Tell me about it if you would be so kind...

Smoking unflushed bud has a very bitter taste, one that masks the natural flavors of your crop. The resulting ash will be black and sticky, and the buds may crackle or pop when roasting (not unlike when you smoke a bean)

I do a 3 to1 flush about two weeks before harvest. then just water till the end.

I'll stick to what I do. Has been working well for years. Not to say there's not some truth to it. But most mj growers over feed there plants so in the end I would still flush and let the plant use up it's reserves.

Amen and a +rep for you, Woodsmaneh. I am not settled on the issue, since there are so many fans of flushing, but it just doesn't make sense to me.

For one thing, the most common way that growers flush their crops is by giving their crops water that has no nutrients in it. But this doesn't fully cleanse your crops. It only starves your plants so they lose vigorous floral growth and resin percentages just before harvest. Why do you think the money grabbers are bring you flush products with food in it?

I'll tell you more at the end of this grow. I have four clones. same soil and nutes. more to come gotta go.

its not that my attention span is short...its just the fact that so many people stick by both...your reasoning makes complete sense therefore i think it is worth a shot...just feed it tiger bloom and big bloom every other week all the way up to chopping?

You need to regulate the amounts that you give them in the last weeks of flowering. What I do is feed what I know my plants will take, so week 7 I cut food to 50%, next water 25% and stay there till done. If not ready and they need another 5 days same thing 25%.

From week 7 till finish I will need to water 3 to 4 times and that's worked very well for me.

As I said before curing is where most of the magic happens.

Try this, put a dried bud away is jar for 2 months. Take it out and smoke it, you will think someone replaced it with better bud. Curing works wonders.
