sooooo about 2 weeks till harvest (I'm guessing)... Wanted to start flushing... Have read a few methods and would like to get your thoughts on the best?

Just water? Water, let sit for a few minutes, water again? Water and hi-brix or black strap? Are there other nutrients you recommend adding to water at this time? All thoughts are appreciated.

Thanks!

Theres flushing and then theres leaching. Check your ppm and see what you think you should do. Sugars and low ppms are a good idea over finish time. Zero ppm is not so good impo.

You'll hear a hundred different ways for a thousand different reasons so you kinda have to go with what works for you. Personally, I just run my last 2 waterings with straight pH'ed water and make sure I have a decent runoff for these 2 waterings. This helps the plant utilize the last of its nutes before the chop. In reality, that's the best you can hope for is that the plant burns off most of its nutes before you cut her down. I wouldn't exactly call this a flush because I'm only looking for a decent runoff and not a 2X or 3X or whatever the recommended runoff is to be an official "flush".

I'm interested in understanding what you just said...but I can't. What exactly does "Sugars and low ppms are a good idea over finish time" mean?

Edit: Sorry @Alienwidow - it must be the noob in me coming out because I just don't get it. :?

At week 6 of a soiless grow im running 1000 ppm. In the last two weeks i taper the nutes down and run carbs. Molasses, banana mana, nectar, that white and pink jug of a molasses knock off, you know, sweet stuff. Ppms go right down. No more nitrogen and no more calcium. I don't starve my plants but i do run low ppms. Does that make sence? Look at feed charts and youll see when ripening statts feed goes down and suger subs are introduced.

Yep, makes sense now. I didn't realize he was growing soiless.

I dont know if he is or not. But in any system the ppms drop and high brix products and low ppms are good.
@grownude, I appologize for hijacking your thread.

@Alienwidow - I was going to pm you this so I didn't hijack the thread but it won't allow me to pm you.

So you're saying that late in flower the PPMs drop. I get that, the plants are feeding more. But why does that become some indicator for high brix (sugary/starchy) products?

The high brix will feed the web of bennies and the low ppms are because the the plants not using the food. Ever run a dwc? Youll see what the plant eats and when. Late before finish its just drinking and not eating. So youd be wasting the fiod if your running it through. Theres also a good bunch of info on high brix feeding if you look. Nitrogen is supposed to taint the taste of buds and just be useless that late. I run mag and sulfer at 2% from humbolt magnum for a mag without cal with extra sulfer. My info is just speculative info, not science. Read your own maps and pick your own route. Good luck.

Never run a DWC. I didn't realize a person can identify that she stops eating towards the end and that becomes an indicator. Good lookin out @Alienwidow my man!!!!! I'd give you rep points but I'm not sure that's even a thing here anymore?

@GrowNube, again sorry for the hijack.....maybe we both learned something here today!!! :bigjoint:

Well maybe the op will learn from this. Flushing or running straight water is in my eyes like telling anything to grow more and bulk with nothing to bulk or grow with.
