FLUSHING ok i know it sounds stupid, but hear me out i have a point

im not writing this thread to prove a point, but to get some answer to something which is really bothering me.

ok so flushing is basically when you put your plants in the sink and then soak the soil in fresh water with 3x the volume of the pot... so far so good.

i also know why its done, its to eliminate the nutrients in the soil, and allow the plant to consume the nutes it contains in its "body".

ok, having understood all this, i still ask myself how the hell will i convince myself to basically drown my plant... i mean, its happen to me like 2 weeks ago when i watered my plant with about 1/2 of the size of the pot.. in that instance i almost killed the plant as all the leaves were heavily drooping, and about 4-5 fan leaves died.

someone please reassure me, convince me its the right thing to do, cause i know the concept seeems right but im still not sure...

did you have time released nutes in the soil, if so then when you flushed all you did was release more nutrients which could have caused your plant to get damaged. When I flush my plant doesn't droop and the leaves sure don't die off.

ok so if i flush it in fresh water, it will only get better? (atm they both have yellow leaves)

and then, how often should i flush?

so do you have prefertilized soil?
I only flush a couple before harvest and maybe once in the middle of the grow if it needs it.

Are you doing a final flush before harvest? If you are then you don't have to do a 3x the pot.... you just use water without nutes (PH corrected) for every watering the last 14 days or so before harvest. In other words it's a flush spread out over time...

If you are doing a maintenance flush in the middle of the grow then first question is... do you really need to? Is your plant showing signs of salt buildup? Have you tested the PPM of the runoff?

Flushing is easier if your plant has good drainage. Sounds like your soil may not if you drown your plant flushing before. Adding a good bunch of Perlite to the soil should help with drainage next time.
