Flushing Techniques?

I keep reading that I'm either supposed to flush my plant by giving it just water for the last couple weeks, or just over water it by adding 3 times the amount of water of your pot size.

I'm a bit confused at to which one I should do, and I'm wondering if I only do the second technique I mentioned once and only once, or a couple times throughout the week?

So stoned and confused. :eyesmoke: :wall:

The first technique is for flushing nutes from the buds before harvest. This makes for a much smoother and tastier smoke. Probably a bit healthier to not be smoking your nutes as well.

The second technique is for flushing your soil in cases of over fertilizing or changing of your nutrient types.

Thanks! That clears it up finally.

Well I have another question so I might as well ask :bigjoint:

I feed my plant about a gallon of water a week with 2 tbs of fert and 1tbs of molasses. Is that enough? or too much?

Depends on your chosen nutes. For soil (I use Fox Farms Ocean Forest which is kind of hot to begin with), I am usually pretty cautious. Start with no nutes for the first couple of weeks. Once the plants are established (usually 15 days) I give them a half dose of veg nutes to get them through to 30 days. I do not veg more than 30 as I have limited space and need to keep the plants smaller.

Once I get them to flower, I usually start out at a quarter dose against the label recommended. I water every other day and nute every second watering (twice a week). I bump the nute concentration up by 25% every week till max label. Never turned anything crispy doing this.

YMMV, but you are better to be under than over when it comes to feeding.

Just an add, never had any burn issues with molasses regardless of frequency or dose. It is rather benign in terms of burn.

Thank you for the rep +!
