Flushing

Ok so I've got a gorrila glue that's entering week 9 so I flushed the plant this morning and I'm wondering how long will it take for the harsh nutrient taste to exit the buds?....I have only feed the plant 3 times with bloom as it matured way to fast so didn't get time to feed much....the triches r still pretty glassy but 80% of the pistils r orange and curled up so I'm gonna pluck it soon but not sure if it will have the harsh taste with what little feeding it got..soil is Fox farm ocean forest btw..

I flush 3x the size of my pot. The first time. Then 3 or 4 days later I flush again until run off. I also only use half strength nutes. I keep that up for at least 2 weeks and never can taste nutes

The fact that it 'matured' way to fast suggests there were problens and these can make your bud smoke taste off.

As to flushing, none of us do it or recomend it so it would be a stupid question to ask here. This is just some bs all weed growers pick uo that no one else in the world does.

Next youll want to ph, add calmag, use boveda with wet buds and so on... Just ignore it all and oretend its like any other plant in the world.

The leaf is a structure, its not made of fertilizer and it dosent contain fertilizer.

If your buds taste of ferts thats rubbish, they merely taste shite because you messed up. This is what happens to plant material.

What goes in the roots is quickly transformed into other stuff. Wanna rid your leaf of nitrogen, good luck because its a structure you cant take apqrt like lego and remove one element.

I've never read this what u say..I've read on several sites that u flush til runoff and water with plain water so the buds and leaf will absorb pure water thus giving it the natural taste of the herb..if there is a better way of getting the best taste and smell we wld love to hear your method

You can't flush "nutes" out of the plant.

I don't live on the web site bro lol it's a honest question to get better smoke which is what this site is I thought..I don't like to argue and didn't know this site was full of it just wanted to know the thoughts of experienced growers....

With soil you will probably not taste much.
In pure hydro, I would not skip the flushing. Your saliva literally can taste salty after vaping unflushed hydro weed.

In coco, you know how long your pot takes to go dry again.
You need to repeat that cycle about 3 times. work out how long before the end to start....

Grow happy healthy plants, its absurd to think a plant taste of fertilizer, does it taste of piss if i use urine or beef if i use abatoir remains.

Dude the culinary world would love your basic concept only biology is far more complex, mainly that fertilizer is transformed into a solid structure you smoke, magnesium is the central molocule in chlorophyl, you cant just flush it away, its joined to the plant, same with all elements :-)

If I'm feeding heavy I will sometimes cut back at the end, like 50% feed. But I rarely even do that. The secret to good burning and tasting weed is a proper dry and cure. I would start thinking/researching real hard about how your going to do that.

Pro tip - harvest the day they next need a water.

Flush if ya want but complete ten more grows and i promise youll be doing it jyst like the rest of the site.

Sometimes ya gotta work out why were different to you and start trying to do the same. I know i killed a lot of plants to get here today :-)

In soil? Not really. Water isn't going to remove anything that has already been utilized by the plant. In fact, when you stop feeding a flowering cannabis plant it will begin to feed off of the nutrients available in the leaves in a final attempt to remain viable long enough to be fertilized by a male.
The main factor that gives people the illusion that flushing makes for smoother smoke is the breaking down of chlorophyll. This is a beneficial process that normally happens during the drying/curing phase. During a long flush the lack of availble nutrients and subsequent self cannibalizing can cause chlorophyll to begin breaking down before harvest. This results in a shorter amount of dry/cure time needed to get rid of that grassy taste we are all trying to avoid.

Very nice thanx for all the help fellas....my triches are still a bit glassy no leaves has faded either but the pistils are almost all orange now and yes the plant must have went through stress because she started flowering at 4 inches tall it is 10 inches now so I'm kinda disappointed in these genetics compared to my purple's that are 4 weeks old and 13 inches tall already..I'm just hoping to get a quarter or so of decent smoking bud so I don't have to buy a sachos next week
