Dull side....but don't use foil. You'll be far better off with flat white paint or mylar.
flat white paint is perfect but you can use foil if you wish (dull side to the plants shiny side to the wall and crinkle it so it does not create hot spots.

i am just lined with flat matt white paint but have used foil before.
(dull side of the foil towards the plants).

I dont care what anyone tells you do not use foil. Foil no matter how its used can create hot spots and damage your plants. You are better off with nothing then using foil.

i have had to use foil before i as a personal preference wouldn't use it now but if you cannot get your hands on anything else i would absolutely wrinkle it up good and keep an eye on your ladys for hot spots..
from time to time i have seen mylar in the wal mart gift wrapping section or even in the weather proof section..just a thought, good luck.

As a cheap alternative, go and get an emergency blanket form Wal-Mart - $2.88 in the camping section. These are nothing but thin mylar, thus far I have used them successfully without any problems.
