Hi, first post and I'm not really sure if this is the right place for it, but...
I have a dog that, for the past few years, has itched like crazy, all day. He often rips gashes in his neck which we have to cover up and keep him near us for a few days so we can physically stop him whenever he scratches. We have gone to vets dozens of times, we have tried expensive shampoos, controlled diets, pills... Nothing works. The common consensus is that it's some type of allergy, but considering we have no idea what's causing it or how to help him, that idea doesn't really do anything. He's a small poodle type mutt (rescue), about six years old.
I've heard that marijuana can be used to treat extreme itching, whether chronic or sudden. I'm open to all possibilities that might help him, so if this has promise, I'd go for it. I'd like to know what you think about this idea... whether you've heard of it in any way, for dogs, for itching, or both. Doses or an actual case of doing this would especially be helpful. Also helpful would be itching cures you know to work, related or not.
Thanks!
